I'm glad you had replies from Costa and Pret Marianne Marlow and it's excellent that Pret using organic milk. It is also good that Costa are reviewing their milk suppliers although it would be better if they went organic since they are such a big milk purchaser. My brother's daughters have been brought up as vegetarians from birth. He's a big meat eater but their mother is vegetarian. My brother actually likes McDonalds new plant based burger and said he would have one every other time which really goes to show that it is a suitable meat substitute as he really doesn't like vegetarian food. His eldest daughter made him laugh by saying she thought it was a bit too meaty to which he replied 'How would you know, you've never eaten any!". I don't tend to use meat substitutes myself as I try to avoid anything with additives or flavourings but in the past I have been put off by them tasting too meaty. We had some iceland burgers with a high beetroot content which leaked red juice when cooked and that really put me off. I've generally preferred Quorn to other meat substitutes because I like the texture more, probably because it's less like meat.

I made taco boats for OH, myself, and my housemate last night, so my housemate had Quorn, and I put Quorn in half of the ones for OH and I. He ate them without comment so he clearly didn't notice the difference.

Nope, which speaks volumes! I'd say that they do not use organic milk. Is there still no reply from Starbucks, Marianne?

criswell, I understand that as I do not like anything with the texture of meat either. I don't like the Linda Mccartney ones for that reason. I really love spicy bean burgers but it's hard to find a decent one.

It's the Yeo Valley one I like too.
Bought M&S Organic milk last week, but it wasn't as creamy and didn't say free range.
