ok all done...The vet was super nice and said that he could hear a very slight weezing in his chest, hardly any but because of the staining and (as he put it) "a little birdie bogey" in his right nare he wants him to have baytril and sporanox for the next week and to take him back to see how he is...he showed me how to feed and hold him it which i have to do every day, just hoe i can do it as it means catching him everyday but i have to so have no choice..He says apfrom this he is fine and hopefully its a one off....i hope so to...Anyway Elfie is now sitting with his back towards me abit chuffed off but is still giving me a few winks so maybe not that fed up with me

There we are! So happy he was able o put your mind at rest and get Elfie back on the healthy road. Not that he was sick, which is great that you could get him seen to before he DID become ill. I am really happy that you two have got that sorted. Giving meds is not a lot of fun, but make sure you still have play time with Elfie and he won't sulk too much. They can be funny little sulkers though......... I hope he isn't!

Glad to hear Elfie's on his way to better health. I thought I would share this with you. BB may also be interested for his birds. My avian vet has written a large book called The Budgerigar, and as I was browsing through today I found a section on feather stains above the cere. Part of it includes a photo illustration table of the different staining patterns. It might be useful to look at for reference.

Thank you for the great work Stace So mine is "Stained Feathers above the Nostrils" (The white hen). And it sure is a longstanding thing as it returns after sometimes. I wonder what it is? God, an avain vet ahould have been handy. I must buy this book somehow.
