I'm glad and relieved that you have have a bit of stability during the holiday period, sweetpea. Fingers crossed for a helpful vet visit, this week I hope? Hoping to hold off on a vet visit for as long as possible! But relieved we have now entered normal operating hours!

Glad to hear he's stable sweetpea , his flirting with Moriarty must be a good sign that he's feeling well. Normality in opening hours isn't too far off thankfully. Yes, a flirt is always a good sign. There are subtle changes in his behaviour though, like wanting to retire to Lennie's earlier in the evening. He also keeps changing the time he will accept the evening medication & is neglecting to send me the memo.

Poor patient compliance is so very typical of the budgie world, and so is the non-issuing of communication. Hopefully you are up to the task of mind-reading at all times. If you work it out, please do share the formula; I’m sure we would all appreciate more insight into the avian mind.

Based on the latest photo I sent to the vet today, she's reluctant to say that we are out of the woods, but said the area does look less inflamed. Apparently it also looks 'nice and clean' (not sure I'd agree, but I'll take her word for it!)

Having seen my share of abscesses, albeit on human youths, I would agree that it does look clean. Pretty, no. Clean, yes. Keeping my fingers crossed that it heals up nicely soon.

Poor Perry. The photos aren’t enlarging for me at the moment (again!) so I can’t really comment.

Poor Perry. I'm glad the vet is feeling positive about it though. Hopefully it continues to heal well x

I just plucked up the courage to look at the photos of Perry's belly. Poor boy. How is he doing now sweetpea?

Perry's pretty much the same. Here's the latest picture from earlier today. I don't think it's worse. I am hoping it will just scab over & eventually fall off, rather than explode. EDIT: It looks like he's been in a terrible fight, doesn't it?! (You should have seen the other bloke!)

Poor Perry! Makes me wince to see the state of the lad I'm very squeamish about these sort of things... I'd be a terrible nurse!

That does look nice and clean, sweetpea, in my humble opinion. I’d be feeling hopeful …

It might just be the angle of the photographs, but it looks like it's gotten a bit smaller to me. The wound, that is.
