Fingers crossed that the blood was not from P’s belly wound.

Two more pictures. Apologies. The first one makes me feel queasy... 22nd Jan: Today, 27th Jan: I am close to booking a vet visit. The only thing putting me off is that she is highly likely to say 'wait & see'. Plus, I may well have a genuine emergency soon after the visit. Perry continues to eat & drink (albeit me holding stuff up to him), preen & interact with the others. The last couple of days he's seemed a bit restless during the day & extra sleepy in the evening, which makes me think something is brewing (over & above the 'normal' brewing). I've been on high alert for a month now.

Poor Perry.
I'd be beside myself with worry.

Not sure if you may have already known about it or not. It would be remiss of me not to mention it. Poor boy really is not having a good time, is he?

He's probably got his own dedicated server at the vets to hold all his data...

Poor Perry. I have been avoiding the thread as the photos are so distressing I realise that is not helpful to you or Perry.

Hoping Perry recovers well from his ailments. Do let us know how the vet visit goes. I'm so impressed how everyone on this forum takes such good care of their budgies!

I was right when I said something was brewing... a piece has fallen off! Around 7pm this evening, I noticed a small piece hanging by a thread. When he jumped on my finger it fell off. I can't say his belly looks any different for losing that bit (might tell more in daylight tomorrow). If I hadn't seen it dangling like that I probably wouldn't have noticed it fall off. Anyway, to carry on the traditions in this thread, here are some gruesome pictures of the 5mm by 6mm item.... BTW, it looks very similar (albeit much smaller) to the gross scab that peeled off him two years ago.

I do hope that means healing is happening! That hopeful thought did cross my mind for a split second!

My memory probably isn’t as good as yours, sweetpea, but my feeling was that this piece was just like that of the first time this happened. I am also hoping that this might be the beginning of some decent healing. Fingers crossed 🤞 for you both.

Believe me, had you been witness to The Peeling of Perry's (first) Scab, you'd find it hard to erase from your memory! (Using this vomit icon a lot in this thread... )

Just to add to Perry's burdens, Moriarty pooped on his head. The poop fell off before I could take a photo.
