I found this recently and I only started it 2 days ago so I can’t judge it yet, it’s much stronger and more concentrated than the other one so I’m going to use it just twice A week in his water, all the directions are in the leaflet

A stroke happens when the blood flow to the brain is interrupted; a seizure is a misfiring of the electrical impulses in the brain. sweetpea, I understand you don’t have any answers and don’t want to go the invasive test route. I also didn’t realise that Finkle was a rehome, so that’s another set of circumstances that may be possible causes. This is the Vit B supplement that lemonora is giving to Homer and it does seem to be helping him. It might be worth trying even though as you say there are many different and unrelated possible causes. Surely it can’t do any harm? Thanks Hezz. Yes, rehomes can make diagnosing health issues much harder. I am thinking now that Fat Frediano may have liver problems (fat related) as the vet trimmed his beak & toenails in March, but they are already looking a bit long. I assumed at the time that lack of different perches resulted in the long nails, but there may be something more going on. I can't find the link to the Vit B supplement?! Because stupid me didn’t add it!! Not a link but the brand is familiar to a lot of us:

Thanks Hezz and @ lemonora. I am looking into those & checking if the birdcareco have anything comparable. I am really hoping this is just a nutritional deficiency problem.

sweetpeaHow is Finkle doing? Hoping he has not had any more seizures. I have witnessed another two 'episodes' since I last posted (12th & 18th). I am working on it being a nutritional deficiency. Started on Vit B a few days ago but today switched back to guardian angel as Moriarty is moulting & seems a little under the weather. GA has vit B complex so that's okay (though should not be used long-term), but I'm not in a regular routine with the supplements yet. I have birdcareco Daily Essentials 1 (in water) that can be used every day (has vit B complex) & also 'Quiko' vit B in water twice a week, but like I say, I haven't quite got into the routine yet. Otherwise, he's okay. Thanks for asking about him.

Good luck, sweetpea; I hope the supplements help Finkle with his episodes.

He's just had another 'episode'. He was flying madly around the room (fortunately not banging into anything). Wonder if he was panicking about how to land (assuming something wrong with his leg)? Anyway, I caught him & got him in the cage where he was dragging his ringed leg. All okay within 5 minutes, though he has some remaining stress from the experience (as we all do!)
The affected leg changes, which I think rules out an internal tumour.
Also, I wonder about the ability to fly. Would that be possible during an actual seizure? Perry would flap or throw himself about (usually in direction his head was taking him), rather than fly. (Bezukhov's were a rooted-to-the-spot type of seizure).

That sounds a very frightening episode for all concerned, Sweetpea. I'm so sorry Finkle is going through this, and you with him.
I don't believe that coordinated action is possible during a seizure and thus flying would not be possible. Which means you don't know what is causing this behaviour. Speculating, is a tumour on the spine affecting both legs a possibility? I don't want it to be that but something is going on.

I'm sorry that Finkle's issues continue. How disconcerting and scary for you all.
I also don't think that he could fly while having a seizure. I am not sure what it could be instead though.
George could still fly after recovering from a stroke. Could it be mini-strokes?

Sorry to hear Finkle is still suffering these seizures sweetpea. It must be so horrid to watch, especially not knowing when they’ll happen. Does he seem a bit out of it afterwards or does he recover quite quickly?

When the vet examined him in March, she could not feel any lumps or bumps & she's pretty good at that. She didn't have to feel past any layers of fat either. It can't be ruled out completely though, so I guess there could be one in a location that could affect one or other of his legs.

Does he seem a bit out of it afterwards or does he recover quite quickly? He recovers quickly. His leg is only affected for a minute or two (if that - these things always seem longer than they really are) before he is using it again. After 5-10 minutes he is moving around & preening. He is usually a bit quiet for awhile afterwards, but alert. I usually put some millet in (to check how alert he is!) & he always goes to eat some.
