At least Piphans still eats well..She knows where her seed stash is. Even if she has like 4 places she can eat from on her playgrounds and cage. If i get up from the chair and move toward the kitchen where her seeds are, then she follows me and lands on my shoulder and stares on the drawer where we keep everything for piphans. Like she wants me to give her new seeds so she can pick out the ones she likes best cuz she allready ate the good ones that we gave her last day. If i then open the seed bag she likes best, then she goes crazy and jumps down on my hands even before i get to refill her plates. Then the picking starts. Its kind of a problem since she dosent eat the other seeds that is actualy good for her in many ways. Thats why i think she sometimes has running dropping and might have a upset stomach. One of the vets also thinks Piphans dosent gets the right food or suplements. Piphans is a strange bird, but she is my littel mouse

I’m sure you’ve already mentioned, but will she eat her vegetables?

Not at all..she use to be crazy with grated carrot. But now it not even interresting. Sometimes she eats a bit of cucumber but we tryed to offer her many types veggies. She puts her tongue on the veggies to taste em and shakes her head right after. Like she tells us that we eat it ourself. But as something new, then she starts to to show interrest in the bottom of her cage where the left over seeds and sand with few crushed up seashells is. She has never once been down in the bottom of her cage to look for scraps and left over seeds. Now that is a thing for her..very strange Also the last few days i had her sit on my chest when i watch tv. Then i tryed genlty to pull my zip hoddie over her and warm her. Now she also likes that I sit with her for a hour and she has her head up against my neck and her body under my hoddie. When she wakes up and comes out then she chirps a bit and stretches her wings. She can just leave anytime she wants but she find it comfy and warm. I good alternative to the heat lamp.

Foraging on the ground would be normal behaviour if she did this before, but since she didn’t it is most likely suggesting that she is looking for something that is missing in her diet. Also be aware that some budgies will over-dose themselves on shell-grit if they are feeling off, so watch her for that. Is she able to get any sunshine, straight onto her and not through glass, plastic etc? Being in Finland, I imagine that might be hard at times, wondering if this might be contributing to her problems. This is where the bird-specific lamps come in useful. It is lovely that she is taking comfort from the heat of your body.

There are not so many shell grits in the sand since its fine sand mostly. She gets sunlight thru the windows. My mother lives on the 2 floor and she has big windows. But we have no options to have her outside in a garden or similar of thats what you mean. We both live in a flat ion each our appartment. Also Its Denmark i live..not finland Its pretty cold here now and we have snow. She never did any foraging in the cage ground but only on the playgrounds. We have 3 kind of seed mixes and millets and seed bells and seed sticks and water with fluid vitamins. She does like to come and look for food when my mother eats. But we dont offer her human foods anymore since she might gets worse and throw up again. So i dont know what she is looking for....we have given her these seed mix since we got her. We actualy have 4 seed mixes now..incl the one with egg mix that she dosent like at all. Here i found a link for what she loves the most. I barly gets to open this bag of seed before she is all over me But it needs to be mixed with regular seeds like 30% only So maybe thats what she is looking for on the cage ground, when she sorts the seed in her bowl and some of these seeds drops down on the cage ground. www.atundo.com/shop/?a=178477&lang=engwww.petswonderland.com/vitakraft-mauserhilfe-for-budgie-20gThen we have this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130690096238And this en.birdshopchristina.com/fr-fr/products/honing-parels-vitakraft-20-gramThe bells looks like these www.omlet.co.uk/shop/pet-food/bird-treats/24488/seed_bell_for_budgies_&_parakeets_34g/And at last www.maxizoo.ie/p/multifit-egg-feed-1-kg-1232012/and millets Then we bought these organic expensive seed bags linseeds poppy seeds Hemp seeds But do Pipans want to eat any of these...Nope !

Some extra shell grit isn’t a bad thing as it gives her another source of calcium; it isn’t a bad thing that she doesn’t eat the linseed, poppy seeds and hemp seeds as these are considered oil seeds and should be a small proportion of a budgie’s diet, but you could try sprouting them and seeing if she will eat the sprouts.

Wash, soak overnight, drain and wash, drain again. Keep moist, wash several times a day and after a few days you should start to see the little tails. I wouldn’t use cotton as I think the fibres and seeds would be hard to separate to be sure no cotton was through the sprouts when it came time to feed them to Piphans. You can use a cotton gauze or cheesecloth fabric.
Your mother may know what to do for your part of the world, or perhaps do an internet search for more Danish-specific instructions.

Oh my goodness, that is just the cutest picture ❤ Thanks you
She has been doing this for a week now. It started with she was sleeping on my finger due to she is not being well since start of november.
But we sleep each day for 1 -2 H where i fold my hoddie over her. If i check on her if she is alive or how she is doing. Then she gets angry and makes angry noises. Then i wrap her up again and let her sleep some more. I found out if i keep asking her if she wants some food like nom-nom-nom, then that will wake her up eventualy
Last day from this picture we slept for 3 h Since i was also very tired.
By the way i still have this beapnar dewormer that must be mixed in her drinking water like 7.5 ml dewormer to 250 ml water. We tryed everything to cure her and make her better but she still has fluid or slimey droppings.
Even the vet tested her dropping for worms, but dident find any trace of worms. Then we want to try out this dewormer as soon as possible.
Is it safe to give her even if she dosent have worm or we dont know actualy. Nothing seems to improve her health.
She is fluffed up the whole day and sleeps alot. The molting is over and the pins are gone and it has been like this for a month now.
We went at 2 different vets and called 3 that was very far way from us and im trying forums and everything to seek help for her.
So our last attaemt is the dewormer we bought and havent used yet.
Its more easy for us to put in her water over 1 day. From the morning to the next morning.
So do anyone know is this is safe ?
Piphans is a 53-55 gram budgie. There are english language also

I’m sorry, I don’t have any answers for you. I’ve looked through a list of avian vets per country that is posted on an avian medical reference site for their list of vets possibly available to you. I hope this may be helpful for you and Piphans. Thanks but these are all in Copenhagen. If you look on Denmark and find where copenhagen is and then compare to where the german boarder is in Denmark. Then thats how far they are away..we need to sail or fly there or its a 5-6 h drive. We tryed to call em for tips or what to do, but some of em was not friendly at all and was only thinking big money and time.
Thats the problem with the big city compared to the small city country side where i live.
I could not sit and watch Piphans gets worse each day, so i took the chance and mixed this dewormer in her watertub where she only drinks from 7.5 ml to 250 ml water. I will update if it helps or not !
If it is worms and piphans is dying slowly then i would regret i dident try. But i will also regret it if she gets worse... So i just sit here and cross fingers and legs and hopes for her !
She does have all the signs of worm. fluid and slimey droppings and loosing strenght and being fluffed up and slowing down.
