If she doesn't drink for ages and then take some almighty gulps then this could cause it.
Keep an eye on them and take a photo of her morning poop distribution and post that ;D

the colour of the droppings are due to a bird threatened with starvation, always check out how new birds are fed and watered and then copy the same for a few weeks until they settle in..................supply a seed mix called 50/50 which is 50% plain canary and 50% mixed millets .........................although there is seed and water available it may not recognise it as such...............offer millet sprays and groats and a small dish of jap millet is also good for any young budgies

I'd go down to the local supermarket and get some millet sprays, and a box of Trill.
The seed from petstores is often not that good.

Once again, Barrie to the rescue. Once she is eating properly, she may stop being so nervous around you too, Rob. Poor Daisy.

I was going to, but she decided to dive into the seed and scatter it EVERYWHERE, all the poop from last night is covered....but it looked simular to this just the same a little lighter and still some water it seems...but there's plenty of millet husks on the floor of the cage...just glad i asked when i did....i feel so awful just hope it's all ok from here now!

Once the millet kicks in she will be on the up and up. If she is eating from the seed pot, there is no need to change it now - she knows it is food and knows where it is.

It's means that the droppings are back to normal now. Put the seeds in the both ways, the pet shop way and your way. After a while, once she is used to both, you can remove the one which causes more seed loss and mess. And cheer up, you are doing good now
