I was shocked to see a local pet shop selling 'Mop' budgies. It's really sad to think someone could buy these little budgies only to drop dead within a short time, and for $80 each, I'm lost for words. This pet shop also had a glass fish tank full of 'hand tame baby' budgies and cockatiels for sale. All birds had their wings clipped and half the budgies weren't babies at all. On a positive note, the shop is very clean, the cages are spotless and most of the animals look well cared for.

This is really unbelievable. Now it's not clear that is this the idea of a breeder or the pet shop. Maybe they are trying to cash in on the famous Whipper.

Oh this takes things too far, poor little things, surely they cant even see properly, how on earth do they breed these. Its like the breeding of some dogs, I'm glad the BBC have stopped giving prime time viewing to Crufts because of all the bad traits they are trying to breed into dogs. Example is King Charles spaniels being bred to get the smallest domed shape head's, their brains grow too big for there skull and they end up dying in agony, its sick. All in the name of fads and fashion, very sad.

They are feather dusters Skysmum. I don't think they are bred on purpose.

I commented too. Might complain to "ehow" and get them to remove the article.

So people do breed them intentionally, it makes sickening reading.
