Day two he has been fine he just sits on his swing perch and looks in the mirror we have not heard from him though as yet. Have riser how we go because my partner may be allergic to him and I have a runny nose we r given it ago though has any one got advise about poss allergy. He is in the living room at the mo may have to move him to the dinin room
Also just a quick one when we chose lil Winnie in the cage of about 15 there was a massive boy he had loada feathers on his forehead which he kept puffing up he was much bigger and slower then the others he was very handsome but the shop advised he was a slow flyer and he had a scraggly tail but his tail looked total dif to the others and as I said had a mass forehead. He was green and yellow in colour he was from a pervious batch and because of his bigger size and crazy Elvis head u could hardly see his eyes lol did not sell? Why did he looked dif and y was he slow was he Ill

I feel really worried about that bird I think but don't have a clue if I am wrong it was a show bird reading all the things on here. The sad thing is that the women in the shop told us he was no good and fat and something wrong with him :-( he seemed heathly just look dif and did not fly as quick and generally was slower I organally like Winnie and him but had to decide because she said two males would fight is this true ?

Hi liz. Can you post some clear pictures of the bird? It's very hard to know if anything is wrong without seeing how he is looking.

I can't really cause it's in a shop. It's just bigger it looks nothing like a Winnie he has a big forehead of feathers an is slower flying she made out that it was not a good bird but I think it's a show bird the poor thing is in a small cage with 15 other smaller pet birds and clearly will not get a home with the women putting everyone off :-(

Oh. I see. I didn't realise he was in the shop. From what you've said, he sounds like an exhibition type bird rather than a pet-type budgie. They are much bigger with more booby feathers.
If he can't fly well and his tail is scraggy, there is probably something wrong with him. While I know you may feel sorry for him, I wouldn't recommend taking him home. An experienced budgie person may be able to handle a bird with issues like that with extra care it may need, but for someone new to budgies it could cause problems for you and the bird.
