Uh oh!! That is not good! It appears he may have mites. You need something called Ivermectin 0.1% (the 0.1% part is very important) You can get this from ebay and it will be worthwhile treating Winnie too just to be safe and its used as a preventative as well, I dose my budgies once every six months.

I imagine you can but it would end up costing you a fortune with the consultation fee on top. Order it from ebay, such as this one www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-0-1-IVERMECTIN-FOR-SMALL-CAGE-ORNAMENTAL-BIRDS-MITES-WORMS-LICE-RED-MITE-/190711495518?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item2c674a7b5eWhen it comes you will need to handle Noah, its best to wrap him in a small cloth and you move the feathers to the side on the back of his neck, in between his shoulder blades, and put one drop onto the skin. I find it helps to have one person hold the budgie while the other applies it. Repeat this again one week later and again a week after that. The same for Winnie. I am not happy about him having mites, it might be best to get in touch with Rob and let him know so he can treat his budgies too.

I would be returning him to the breeder. If the breeder can cure him, well and good, but it seems the big fella is in a bad way. You didn't go to buy a sick animal, and Winnie doesn't need a sick bird around either. Take him back and come to some arrangement with the breeder. Either another bird now, or another if/when Noah doesn't make it.

Either another bird now, or another if/when Noah doesn't make it. please take him back i no you love him ...but your not giving him any treatment ..and i dont no whats wrong ...so cant say about meds ....he will die if he doesnt get the right treatment ..... give him a chance to sort noah out ... and to be fair you should ask for a refund as if noah has mites chances are they all have them ...your just buying a problem ... after returning noah disinfect the cage and every thing in it ..eather wait till noah is better and get him back or ...what i would do is ......go some where els ....to get a healthy budgie.... this may sound harsh ...but its for the best ...pet type birds live longer this is a fact ....buying a pet budgie ...i would get a pet type one every time .....also they have much less problems .... this is my opinion ...not that of this forum ....id just like to make this clear....

I'm not going to have a go at him, I simply feel that he needs to know about the mites and that the budgie is unwell. There is no proof that he has intentionally sold you an ill budgie so it is only fair to give him a chance to sort things out. x
