hi lizb, mick is right get your money back and go to another breeder, its a shame that there are breeders out there who will sell birds to people that are ill or have some sort of problems ,trouble with this it gives other breeders a bad name,im sure if you ask on this site there will be trust worthy breeders in your area who will be glad to sell you a healthy bird,as mick has said if you keep him, if he does survive that is, there is a chance that your other birds will end up with the same problem do the right thig for your other birds take him back and dont let this problem become and even bigger problem

I know you prob dont want to here this but i have to agree with the others But, if you are certain that you are not going to take him back then i would get him to the vets asap so at least you know for sure what you are dealing with,it may be expensive but it is your birdie and he cant take himself to the vet to get better,at least if you go to the vet he/she can tell you out right what is wrong and can give you the right medication to make Noah feel better other wise its not fair on him and it may be too late...Also if you are going to keep him you should FOR SURE call the breeder tell him whats going on other wise the breeders other birdies will continue being ill and thats too sad to think about Hope to hear your update soon

hi,clean this of as soon as poss if its stuck to the feather then just trim them and make sure the vent is clear,if the vent gets blocked and the poo cant come out it will build up inside the bird and kill him if you cant trim around you could always dip the bottom half of him in some warm water which will soften it (if it is hard) once the vent is clear just give it a trim just so this dosnt happen again

The mite stuff is here how many drops is it because I have no idea how much they weigh ? One drop on the skin between the shoulder blades, make sure you get it on the skin though or it won't work. Also treat Winnie as she has a short time of close contact with him. Make sure you wash your hands inbetween though x

I took mine to the vet in a small cage (it was a hamster cage actually) and i held it while my partner drove. I didn't cover them up as they are not used to that and they enjoyed looking around. I hope he is ok Liz. It's such a worry, i'm still worrying about Thala as she is still not well after a week and meds from the vet, but she is no worse either ( i think). Good luck

Good luck with the vet visit.
I totally agree with Rachael, regarding contacting the breeder. And the sooner the better. There is nothing to indicate he sold you a dodgy chick on purpose, and if the bird does have mites, he will want to know! He will probably be mortified that you have had all the worry you have.
