Who uses what and what benefits do you think each serves?
Not sure where to post this.

i use jam jar feeders in the breeding cages with an open dish when chicks are out of the nest box. and a hopper in the flight. i find cheap glass ashtrays ideal for open dishes as the're heavey and easey to clean. paul

Pet owner, I had a small hopper through the bars and found it to much maintance blowing the husks off. I've now weened him on to using the built in open dishes

Never use open water vessels, this is a breeding ground for bacteria

I use these seed and water feeders. Not because I like them, just because these are the only one available here. Attachments:

i use the open seed dishes . But i hate them ,as barrie says they can become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria, and tend to get things in them like seed or the dreaded dropping (which further leads to bacteria unless spotted quickly) And my lot tend to tip them over like it's a game . although in the larger cage i use pots on the ground and have no problems with them . They can't be tipped and for some reason nothing gets in them often. I also hate the hoppers though (i know im a moaner ;D) as mattj said it's awkward to maintenance.

Some hoppers like the funnel ones can become blocked with feathers etc and if unoticed can starve your birds of seed.

can we get a picture of what ones you recommend please barrie These are the best for the birds i dont use them ONLY because im to cautious to change over just incase the birds dont have a clue how to use them. And these are a clip on the wire seed hoppers.

These should be avoided, they go on the outside of the cage, the hole for the seed gets blocked very easy, and it is easy for feathers to block it up also.
