Perfect breeding cages That cage does look the bee's knees. I've read that all-wire cages have the advantage of reducing hiding places for red mite. In the long distant past I used wooden cages for housing & breeding foreign finches and as I found three double cages in the attic of my parents old home I'm considering re-using these if the need arises later on. And that aviary looks very impressive.

Thanks very much for sharing the photos of your aviary build and the new cage. This is so helpful as I haven't had the chance to look at any aviaries locally so I'm watching to see how you get along before getting started on my own. faceman The Budgie Man does the all-wire cage fold flat for storage and does it have a place where an external nest-box can be attached? It looks good from the photos as does the whole aviary. You are getting on with yours at just the right time for a good start this year. Mine is still in the thinking about it stage.

Faceman, ive been watching this with interest, you've done so well in such a short space of time. Its looking brilliant. Mine needs re-roofing and insulating before the spring, roof sprung a big leak in Nov hence why i have mine indoors so a good chance to revamp it. well done so far, looking forward to seeing the end result .
