Try it serz, we always make sure we have a deep layer of shavings and a couple of dummy eggs under chicks

That does not look good, it appears the legs are set now in that position

Many babies with splayed legs manage to adapt. They just need extra care in setting up the cage and placement of food and water.

I ll just say a thought...Maybe when he gets older and be in need to stand on his feet or grab perches.Would that force it s legs to get back in place??
Thank you

Hi dear Serz I do not think you can affect the defect significantly nevertheless I believe you have tried a common fixing. I have one budgie whose only one leg was affected like that. Now she is at the age of five. She certainly needs a special care (she cannot be together with the others for example). I can send a photo if you are interested in how the defect looks like. Good luck Ales

Hi I had a chick like that at 13 days old and I tied the legs with string and left it on for 3-4 days and it turned out fine so If the chick is less than 15 days old theres still a chance try it there is nothing to lose and it wont hurt the chick!

Unfortunately after 10 days old there is little you can do in correcting the legs as the bones are already calcified. I you need a home for the bird just contact me by pm Serz.

well I've corrected quite a few of my birds after 10 days, I was told they don't calcify til 15 days??? I believe this to be true otherwise how would I have corrected my chicks?

Sounds like it is worth trying at least. Thanks Robbo. We need to hear from people who have tried and succeeded outside the normal parameters.
