Any of our lovely members have a Hagen cage? Ive spent the morning looking for a decent sized cage online, and the medium Hagen vision seems to be a great cage. For anyone who has one what are the pro's cons ect? only con i can see is no tray for easy removal of paper. Any other recommendations? Edit: This one? www.cagesworld.co.uk/p/Vision_Medium_Bird_Cage.htm

I had the medium and it was great,i now have the large.....The clips on the sides some times ping off when putting the water bottles on so that is quite annoying but apart from that oh and a bit fiddley to clean between where the bars fit in to the plastic of the cage (the ridges ect but i now just hoover in these parts and then use a corner of a cloth....i find every thing else great about it

I have the large and it's great.
With the clips at the side you have to really make sure they are fully clipped into the slot.

I have the medium one as well. I find it superb. I think Joey approves. Cleaning is a breeze. I just separate the two halves with Joey in the top half and all the rest I hoover and clean with a Dettol cloth.I just wash the grid with hot water only. I am a bit miffed as I paid about the same price as you have seen and then I saw in my local indoor market the exact same cage for about £35 brand new. I would send you it but it would cost as much as the one you have seen with p&p.

I have the medium too. I can't find anything bad to say about it, I love it, best cage I've ever had and I've had quite a few over the years. Just one thing, change the perches for wooden ones.

Sounds like a bargain OP Thank you for the thought all the same, very kind. I think im likely to remove the grid, if my future feathered friend likes to go to the bottom of the cage. My dear Tink passed away Sunday, so im birdyless at the moment, preparing to give another budgie a loving home.

I just put newspaper on top of the grid and all the feathers and seed go underneath. Don't put the paper right up to the ends under the food bowls and it leaves gap to allow the feathers etc to go down. Then when the bird flaps the feathers don't go everywhere.

Just another question: I see there are 2 doors side by side, when both are open do they making one big opening? or is there a bar between the 2? Id prefer a cage which has a large entrance/exit for my future bud x

They open to one large space. If you open them inwards they make a platform for the bird to stand on to come out. I attach a perch on the outside so Echo can walk along it when he wants to fly.

Thankyou starlingqueen @samwiseg oh i have kept budgies on & off since my very 1st one, Timmy when i was 10yr old, since then ive had, Snowy, Squaddie, Alfie, Ernie & of course Tink who recently passed. Timmy lived to the grand old age of 12yrs on a diet of everything he shouldnt have had including beer, chicken, cider and was even partial to a bath in my bowls of tomato soup! he was such a character! (we werent as educated 30yrs ago!) Other than Tink who was 5.5yrs, I was unlucky with budgies & almost gave up, them lasting only a few years but none were babies when i adopted them, so never knew their exact ages. For my new adopted feathered son, I am researching reputable breeders, in the Swansea area, id like a baby cock, 6-8wks (anything but green/yellow). Even with my two lunatic human kids the house is too quiet. Our home will ALWAYS be a budgie home, until i am popping up the daisies myself.
