Happy Momma! I hung some fresh parsley in the cage for my boys, Mojo just looked at it but Oggie had a nibble, ive removed it now as its gone limp but I will put some more in tomorrow just so they get used to it, or should I try something new everyday seeing as they are so young at 7wks? About 40 mins ago I fancied a nectarine, took a bite and realised my babies were watching inquisitively, so I shared and placed on top of the thick willow they like to sit on THEN.....to my shock they both tucked in!!!! Needless to say, as the fruit wasnt secured it dropped to the bottom of the cage, uh-oh for a split secondi though all hell wasgoing to break loose but they had a good nibble and flew up to their bridge....beam me up scotty!

So they are going to definitely be anything-you-can-eat-I-want-to-try-too little guys. This makes your job so much easier, lucky you! If they were at all shy about trying things, I would suggest one thing at a time, over a few days, but I don't think you need to be worried with these two cuties. Whatever you have out (within reason, of course ..... they aren't going to eat huge amounts of anything) I would be letting them see what it is and whether they are interested. You may find you have to increase your own vegetable intake to get them to play the game. It might even work on Kira, if she isn't too fond of greens herself.

Sometimes my budgies remind me of my father.......down-right fussy! Then at other times they can be like my mother.... eat anything on the plate (well almost anything). Keep going tinksmum. You will soon discover their favourites. I think the trick is to try for variety as not everything is available all year round. Mine loved chickweed and never turn their beaks up at a bunch of rosemary. Recently they wont touch carrot.

Sometimes they change their minds about what they like. They are very strange.

Ive put some banana in on a willow skewer, and no luck yet, is it a toy? is it a plane? nooo its a big round yellowy strange looking thing! Whatever they think it is, they havent gone near it. I guess last night i was super lucky! and i honestly think this is down to the breeder handling them since hatching.

I have never had any luck with banana, but then again all three of mine turned up their little beaks at strawberry yesterday! Humph! It was like "ewww, we don't do red!!!" Okay, be boring then! Try some apple instead.

I bought Joey some strawberries with my weekly shop. He also just looked at on that I clipped to his cage. I had to eat them myself.

The first time I gave mine red pepper they couldn't get enough of it. Ever since they have steered well clear.

Ok so I have tried red pepper and cucumber today. They've not been near it yet but I live in hope. They can't just live on spinach and seed.

They are happy with spinach and recognise it as food, how about trying something like one of the asian greens-type of thing ........ they look fairly similar and they may not be so reluctant to give them a go. Shrug ..... Just trying to think of options for you ........
