Gorgeous George (great name!!) has a pale greyish necklace, but no other colours. I have another bird with similar colouring, however yellow rather than white. He has a pale grey stomach, and also a necklace. It was the necklace that I noticed ...... so it is grey. He is a ripper!

Hi BudgiesBuddy, these are chick pics of the other cock I was talking about. The grey is less pronounced now as he has become more "yellow" with age (he's about a year old now). Is he a double factor spangle as well? I always thought he was a dilute (his siblings are), but there are no markings on his wings at all that I can see. Perhaps they are clearwings? I keep looking at websites on genetics, and get terribly lost! Meanwhile the "widow" has discovered Gorgeous George, and there is no holding her back! They are kissing and preening, and her eggs are somewhat neglected. I do not think she will have the patience now to sit until the eggs are hatched. Thankfully I moved her and Buddies eggs around, and the other 3 eggs are with other hens. I would like him to have a baby to be remembered by!

Well, who wouldn't want to be first in the line when Gorgeous George is introduced to the aviary? ? Great to know the widow weeds have been shucked and she is up for a bit of fun again. But do hope you are able to keep the eggs under someone!

I had a good look this afternoon and saw Gorgeous George feeding her. He is not just a nice face after all!!! I checked the nest box and as I expected has happened. During the "starvation" phase she ate one of her eggs. The other one is still rolling around, and she is sitting on the egg whilst her new mate is looking after her. I hope the egg has stayed warm enough though; time will tell. All the other chicks are looking great - expect pictures when they fly out!

She will soon start new clutch with new cock. What is the eyes color of this other cock? Do you know or have pictures of his parents?

His father is a grey / yellow dilute; the mother a blue / yellow spangle with a top half green and bottom half blue chest. I will make pictures of him (including eyes) and his parents in the weekend. The parents have a clutch of about 6 new chicks - she is too protective to count them properly, so should be interesting!

I love the pastel colours there, too. You have some awfully pretty birds, Marleen. Green-eyed monster here.

Lemon's mother (she has 7 chicks) Father and son Lemon And Lemon again. Other cocks (incl. Buddie the spangle) in the aviary could have been Lemon's father, however given the grey colour it is more likely the dilute (who is his mother's mate). BudgiesBuddy, can Lemon be a double factor spangle? His eyes are black with a ring. Thanks!

Gorgeous George has one egg already, and they were barely engaged! Hormones can do terrible things, although they seem perfectly happy as a couple

This pairing should give you; Greys, Yellowfaces, Greywings and Single Factor Spangles. So I don't thing Lemon is a Double Factor Spangle.
