Really concerned about Oggie, his poops yesterday werent very well formed a bit watery, I put it down to him getting wet in the bird bath on friday, but this morning I have uncovered the cage to be horrified at not poop but brownish water stains (I put white paper in the cage last night so I could monitor this poop situation overnight), he really shouldnt be like this at just 10wks old, I gave them brocoli friday but it was left seemingly untouched, as you know I have had Mojo & Oggie for just 2wks. With it being the weekend I cant get him to a vet until tomorrow. Mojo is fine, her poops are normal and she is already out & about doing her thing. Any advice? Or anything I can give him until tomorrow when we go to the vet? Googled and could be a pancreatic infection?

Oh dear - sorry to hear this. Does he seem ill - fluffed up, lethargic? Is he still eating and drinking? Advice for any ill budgie is to keep it warm and if possible separate in case there is anything infectious going on. Other people will be by to give other advice soon, I'm sure.

He is a little fluffed and just wants to be left alone, his vent was a bit pasted last week I put it down to new surroundings as it sorted itself out after 48hrs I cant help but think its related. Oggie is such a sweet bird

Just spoken to the breeder and he said this can happen with baby birds, just to seperate them give some tonic and he should perk up in a few days? Never had this before but at the same time never had birds this young.

Oh dear, Helen - this does not sound good. I am so sorry. I hope you can get some fluid into him. This has happened very quickly, hasn't it? I wish I knew enough to give you any more advice. Sending you both hugs.

It sounds as if you are right that it is a gut ailment of some kind. The vets have said to me that they can go down very quickly, and I guess because he is so young he is extra vulnerable. This is awful for you both, Helen.

Helen, Oggie could have worms get him to lakeside vet on enterprise zone he treated my Beauty. When he became ill within days of getting him off Rhydian Keep him warm and cover the cage only leaving front open try and put heating on and hot water bottle in his cage. He needs to be kept really warm. Andrew in lakeside vet is an avian vet and he was marvelous with beauty, he give him wormer and baytril and he pulled through. I Think oggie could be suffering the same with worms as thats exactly how he went ........put white paper on the cage floor and try and see if you can see tiny white wormsin his poo Hope you can get oggie to vet tomorrow lakesides number is01792 774457

Oh no, poor poor baby. I have just read your post from the start, I am so sorry. It is so devastating how quickly these little guys can deteriorate. This has been an awful day for our baby birds. My heart goes out to you and Oggie x
