There organs let them down , as the bird gets bigger the organs dont Oh, I didn't know that! So it isn't only the feathers affected..... The bird is trying to produce this massive feather , which makes the organs work way to hard , over eating is working the organs to hard. Strip a budgie down and you will notice that as the bird has got way bigger with a heap more feather the organs will not have got any bigger.

hi there ,i lost a feather duster last week at 5 weeks old it was the best budgie i had bred so far but the feathers just kept growing she was 3 months old when she died,sad but just one of those things with exhibition budgies i suppose regards gerwynmr2
