We measured Hectors "lump" today in the advice of the vet to measure it weekly.
It's still 4x7mm in size.
So not grown, which is good news.

I looked at it this way as well: knowing whether it is benign or malignant isn't really going to make any difference to how we treat her. The consensus from the experts was that it was unlikely to be malignant, but that it was better to remove it before it was too large and it may start to become invasive. Also with the wound, I didn't have to do anything as far as cleaning went; just kept an eye on it to make sure it didn't become infected. Oh, yes, and I do remember now discussing with the vet that if she did start to pick at the wound that we would have to fit her with an elizabethan collar! They have them on hand and would make one up to fit, so you shouldn't have any problem there, if Hector needs one. How much did it cost to get the lump removed?

Can't remember off-hand what the all up cost was.

Great news that it isn't a rapid-growing thing, Marianne. Do you have a little set of callipers to measure it, or simply do your best with a ruler? Fingers crossed for Hector.

I use a ruler Hezz. Also to my untrained eye it looks exactly the same as the first time I spotted it.

How much did it cost to get the lump removed? I have a quote for the operation if he needs it. £29 for anaesthetic and £36 for the surgical procedure. Then if I want a histology done it's a further £76.80.

No, the price isn't bad. More worried about the effect on my little Demon to be honest. Do worry about my boys

Then if I want a histology done it's a further £76.80. The price is very reasonable. I understand not wanting to put him through it, if possible. Anaesthetic isn't always well received. I'm not good with it myself.

I have become paranoid - so can totally understand your worries, re actual things you know about. I never used to be like that, but then didnt have these differing things show up that I hadnt experienced on previous budgies...

I read about them so much and learn a lot here..
So sometimes that increases the worry.
But at least you spot things that you wouldn't normally notice.
