I was not aware you were in the States. I had a stroke so may have known and forgotten. In the States there is a website DrFosterandSmith I order everything there. You can get all kinds of medicine online. They are not allowed to send the meds over to Canada though. Hopefully you will get good news for FinFin and the Vet will find what the noise is.

I can totally understand how you are feeling, when i got Elfie i ended up in a situation where he had to go to the vets,i was so scared and sad as i had not had him long and he was my very first bird ever i then had to go back another 2 times,it all seemed to happen at once but the best thing i could have done was go to the vets for him and for my mind and this is what you are doing and i think it is also the best thing to do,dont beat your self up about not doing it straight away because you are doing it now and well done for that, sending you both the biggest hugs and vibes and lets hope its nothing to worry about xxx

Thank you everyone, so today is the day! I hope all goes well! FinFin did sneeze today like 10 times in a row. He seemed to not be able to stop. I really don't know what's going on with him. But I am sure the vet will find out! I will keep you all updated as soon I come home again.

Okay I need to call them in a few minutes. I needed to leave FinFin there. The Dr. checked him from the outside and listened to his lung and heart activity and could not find anything wrong with him. But because of the strange noise while exercising and the often sneezed, she got me some antibiotics. Condition: appears Healthy Aside from Bacterial Rhinitis Rule Out Chlamydia Exercise: No restrictions Feeding: Feed special diet. Feed only 1 level teaspoon of seeds per day mixed with equal of Harrison's pellets. Medications: 1. Orbax (antibiotic) - Start tonight ( I am afraid that I can't hold FinFin without him moving around for the medicine ) And I need to come back in 2 weeks for a follow up. Everything costed me $239... FinFin got his claws cut a little bit and also his feathers were checked, Dr. said he is also in a moult since some of his flight feathers grow out. bill:Exam/Consultation: $75 Avian Chlamydia Dna TVMDL: $130.50 Avian Grooming Small w/ Exam: $12.00 Discount Grooming: -$6.00 Orbax Susp (30mg/ml) 20ml: $110.40 Now I will call them to get my baby back home and hope for the best when it comes to giving him one drop each night for 2 weeks... Oh my goodness...

So is it some sort of infection?
What is the special diet for, is he a little overweight?

aw FinFin... If you haven't been to collect him already, maybe when you do you could ask the vet to show you how to hold him and show you how to give him his meds... So glad he is coming home

Good news! Yes, get the vet to show you how to give him the meds- maybe even let you give him the first dose in the office with his supervision? That will help your confidence and if you are confident it will be easier for Finfin.

good news and sounds like a thorough check up!
why was Finfin kept there?
re the meds, if liquid, then it 'might' work how I gave Bailey his...also couldnt grab him.. but we had a syringe to administer the meds.. and the first few times before putting the meds into it, i made a game out of the syringe. i pretended to eat the end... so when I offered it to B, he was quite happy to have the end in his beak.. not saying he got all of the drops each time, but a great deal of it did go in, and the quantity was very small.. so it worked. i have kept the syringe should I need it for anything else

So is it some sort of infection? What is the special diet for, is he a little overweight? The Dr. says because of the sneezing etc. it could be Bacterial Rhinitis so she gave me antibiotic. I managed to give the one tiny drop to him last evening and today he is already completely different. Not only he came out on his own and even when I showed him millet. He jumped right down and came to the front, which he never did! I also have the feeling that since the Dr. handled him yesterday he is much friendlier to me. He was looking so happy yesterday, when I picked him up at the Dr's. office. He saw me and right away fluffed up and looked to me sooo cute! I needed to leave him there because his nails were so tiny but too long, and one nail was bleeding at the back thumb of his claw and they kept him to make sure it stops bleeding. But he is fine today. Uses the claw just normal like always! They were praising him, because he did not attempt to bite at all! He was just calm. Like I know him, good boy! So hopefully everything will be good now. Next week on Tuesday I can expect the blood test! The special diet is to change him slowly to Harrison's pellets. Also my Dr. said these pellets are much better for them. But I can't do it like that, because my food dishes are way too big so 1 Tsp of each is pretty little in this big dish... Well now I did something different. I filled his food dish with Harrison's Super Fine pellets and a dish with seeds for outside. His cage is open, if he gets hungry he either tries the pellets or he comes outside to eat. so I can catch two flies at once. Oh and before I forget it, FinFin's weight is 35g ! @everyone thank you so much for your luck wishes and I am sure FinFin will be soon showing his real personality!

35g isn't really that much, is he a small bird? Well depends on what small is for Budgies. I think he is pretty small. whenever he is outside of the cage he looks so tiny. e was always eating good. I gave him romaine lettuce, seed mixes and egg food and he was always eating good. So I don't know if the 35g is too less. Because Dr. said his weight is good.
