I'm a bit late to this party. So it was chookies! Aren't they stunners. Such pretty caramel coats.
Hope this illness bizzo is just a small hiccup. I guess moving house is when these things are most likely to show up just because of the stress of it all.

I think it goes to prove that all birds can get stressed when moving house doesn't it? AND It also makes me think people of a nervous disposition should never take on the avians! We must be strong characters eh?

Of course they do it on purpose just so they get pampered.

Thank you OP. Yes 'they' say a journey can bring to the fore an underlying problem if it's there. The other two are absolutely fine and the one with a cough/sneeze isn't really that bad, so hopefully when the medication gets in it will sort it all out. My post doesn't arrive until 1.30pm so am anxiously waiting the arrival of the postman!

Hooray!!! The postman arrived early today, he must have known. I have mixed up the powder with 1 Ltr boiled water (as instructed) and put some in the coop. I think it must be chicken lemonade, they love it!! But poorly chook has only had a little, all the others are guzzling it down. Fortunately I didn't put the whole litre in there, so will do it in dribps and drabs!! Breeder said to give it to them until its all gone so fingers crossed. I do change their water a couple of times during a hot day, so won't be able to do that today, daren't throw any away!

Even a small amount for the poorly chook may be the start of a come round. Fingers crossed.

Must say that this is their night time run/house, in a few days I shall let them have the run of the garden, but I feel they need to settle in and get used to me a bit first.

Say goodbye to your garden. They will destroy everything. They dig up your grass, rip up your plants, poop everywhere. We had three loose in our garden and they decimated it. Then we had the fox attack one late afternoon and that decided it, we built a large run and got our garden back. I would contain them in an area that you don't mind losing, and make sure they are locked safely away by mid afternoon.

This was our garden last year. A baron wasteland. This used to be grass. We had to put up a dividing fence. This is when we got our 2 new chooks and had to introduce them to the older one. You can see the state of the chook side of the garden. And before the invasion of the garden snatchers.
