Come on Smudgie! You can do it! Just let your budgie-mum give you your medicine! Reminds me of how my nan could never take tablets as a child, so her mother used to put the tablet in a spoon of jam. My nan would then eat it... all the jam would be gone and the tablet would still be sat on the spoon!

Ira that is my fall-back if things get bad - a drop onto her Vegemite. She knows it tastes a bit wrong, but not enough to stop her coming back to it, thankfully. Unfortunately we seem to have gone back to a little squeak when pooping this morning, but that is all. She is still lively and active, chirpy, and her posture is good. More importantly, eating. birdguhl, was it you who brought up the H2O2 last time? I am seriously thinking of giving that a go. Especially as she seems to have good and bad days. I didn't think I was going to have time to try anything radical, but she has surprised me with her spirit so far.

Smudge gave me the fright of my life yesterday. She was in the big cage having quiet time away from the ever annoying Mango, when I noticed her on the floor of the cage ......... lying down, with her beak touching the floor of the cage. My heart plummeted thinking the worst, thinking why now when she had been doing so well? Then I thought, if she is dying, at least she hasn't been in any pain, has had a good day, and better that than struggling on. It seems she was simply having a "collapse". She hasn't done that for a while. Usually she does this on the top of the cage, but being in the cage, there was nowhere else to collapse but on the floor. She didn't half scare me, though. Phew!!!!

They do give your stomach a jolt don't they. Your heart ends up in you throat and if you are anything like me you start shaking. I hope Smudge gets better very soon Hezz.

If I'd seen that it's me that would have had a "Collapse" they don't half frighten the life out of us.

We are now having full-on PPC. So much so that we are taking 10-15 minutes to get a dose of meds into her. So yesterday evening I bit the bullet and decided we were going to have a break from the battle of wills. I put the necessary drops onto a piece of millet and once it had soaked in she was happy to eat it. I am not sure how much they get doing it this way, and wouldn't have if she hadn't been doing well. No bad effects this morning, so all good so far. I repeated the process this morning as well. Not looking forward to the evening battle; she is out-witting me at every turn.

I shouldn't laugh at Smudge being stubborn, but she is a very determined character. So glad she still has her spirit.
