I have written out Custards medical history for the vet, printed some close up photos of his beak and nails, also collected his morning droppings.
Just need to check travel route and times and get the budgie carry case clean.. put some millet and a ladder in for him and we're good to go... later at 2.40pm..
All good wishes gladly received.
He's currently playing with Hector.

Phew what a journey, Custard and us are glad to be home! The vet clipped one of Custards nails because it was long. He did not clip the beak because he said that it was not long enough, I was glad of that actually. He felt Custards liver and said it was not enlarged and he's a good weight. We discussed diet and he suggested feeding eggfood mixed with some of the vitamins that I have, in the morning before they get their seed. HE also said more fresh foods and less seed should be given (slap on the wrist) and asked for me to send a link for the aloe juice that I ordered because it's a good idea. He mentioned lafeber nutriberries as an alternative to seed (when we can afford it!!) But agreed that Custard probably does have a liver condition, at this stage, best treated by diet. good news.

Well we have to be pleased that there is nothing really seriously wrong that has been diagnosed. It seems to leave the question about the black marks and abnormally large beak open. Yes there is a liver problem, but it is something that may or may not develop, let us hope it is the latter. Sorry to hear you had such a stressful journey.
