I am so sorry that things have just not gotten better for poor little Bertie. Give it this last try, and you know that you have given him every chance that has been possible for him and you. It is a hard but sometimes necessary call, made with only love and Bertie's best interests at heart. You have my full support for whatever decision you reach. Thinking of you and Bertie in this awfully hard time you are both going through. *Hugs* xxx

I read somewhere that it helps if you soak the millet in the ACV mix...gets it working quicker if he's still eating x

Thanks guys. I'm just absolutely gutted, and so shocked when I weighed him. He has been vomiting for about 2 months now but never lost weight and I was kidding myself he would be okay. Praying for this megacare to arrive asap, have paid for the quickest delivery. Can't face putting him to sleep but know if he has no quality of life and is suffering then I have to. My poor Bertie

To help with megabacteria which is what I suspect he has.

All my very best thoughts and prayers for you and Bertie. You can tell how much you and Bertie love each other by the way you both are fighting to stay together. Hope the Megacare helps.

I just wanted to thank you guys, not only for all the knowledge you have shared with me but for the support also.
Bertie is still fighting and with us. He had an awful episode Friday afternoon where I rang hubby and said enough it was time. He kept falling over and screetching non stop. He fell back over and ended up backwards and upside down by a ladder in his cage. The tears I wept would have filled the Amazon river.
Hubby said to calm him down and wait for him to come home. I held him in a soft towel at the bottom of his cage, after a while he regained his composure and got onto a perch. By time hubby got back Bertie had calmed down somewhat. We decided to wait for the Megacare which was coming the next morning - Saturday.
I've been in a daze since that turn on Friday. I went to the shop yesterday morning to get ionised water for Gene (for his meds) and ended up missing the postman and getting a card saying I had a missed parcel and to collect it on Monday. How stupid of me to go out when I was waiting for such an important parcel to arrive. I drove round the streets looking for the postman but to no avail. Pulled up on the drive and wept, I had failed Bertie with his one last chance to survive. As I got out the car I saw in my wing mirror the postman across the green - I don't know who was looking down on me that day but I was so grateful. I drove around and the postman said he had swapped bags and didn't have my parcel, when I frantically told him what it was for he said he would go and get it at the end of his round and deliver it to me. This man had no idea how bad the past few days have been, he just knew I needed a parcel with meds in it and altruistically helped me. He came around after lunch with the Megacare, I gave him a good bottle of wine and am going to write a letter of thanks to his boss. The kindness shown from this stranger I will never forget.
Bertie is continuing to be sick and is fluffed up. However I did weight him and he weighed 38 grams, an improvement of 3 grams. He is on the second day of Megacare and tomorrow will start two days of the follow up stuff. I am giving him every last chance, but we have made the decision if he is still suffering we need to do what we need to do.
My heart breaks every time I look at him. My poor, gorgeous, friendly Bertie,

Oh, sweet, my heart is breaking for you and Bertie. Your Postie absolutely deserves a medal for going above and beyond the call of duty, he is a gem that you never want to lose. I so much hope that this is the meds that will see Bertie enjoy some degree of life again. The pair of you have been through the mill. I hope like you won't believe that this will be the end of your torrid times, but if that is not the case, you are strong enough, and love Bertie enough to make that final decision for him. God bless you both. xxxxx

All I can think of is that you make him as calm as possible, completely away from stress.
Maybe play him some chill fm or something.
The less stressed he is, the more likely he will eat and less likely he'll be sick.
Prayers and love for little Bertie, we're all thinking of you. X
