They could be twins yes hehe. Bless him. I would be interested to see a pic of custard when his beak has been trimmed. Only ever had one of my budgies Bobby (passed) who had their beak trimmed, he had quite a bad underbite. Vet was very good though, is quite something to trim a beak. Just out of interest what mutation etc is custard. Have read many articles to try to work out what all mine are but struggle. All the recessive, pied, and other descriptors just confuses me

He's a dominant green pied.

Ohh bless him Marianne, definitely a job for the experts. It looks a bit like our nails when they get long and start splintering. Hope all goes well for him at the vets.

Poor Custard, Sids beak used to have that odd crumbly texture as well. Hope it goes well at the vets.

Custard is visiting the vet today for his beak trim. We'll have to hope that he leaps into one of the cages near the time, because he doesn't recognise sticks as authority (under the budgie treaty of 1889), so I can't get him in easily!

Wishing you and Custard luck for today - does he not understand the millet bribe?

Wishing you and Custard luck for today - does he not understand the millet bribe? He's a free spirit little Custard, you can't make him do anything, even with millet!!

I have to admit, I am pretty terrified. I'll probably be more scared than Custard

Stay calm or else Custard might detect your anticipation. Good luck to you both.
