It was your Ian! But not a ghost, I'd seen his pic on the A-Z and his was the last pic I'd seen just before I wrote on this thread and his name must of been stuck in my head! 😁

Shirley came out this morning so I had a peak whilst she was eating and there were 4 eggs and a newborn rolling about. I closed the nest and let them be, Shirley went back in the nestbox.
I need to do some more research I think. I'm confident Shirley will be fantastic, she has sat on them eggs constantly, I've hardly seen her.
Will await the others to hatch. They were not laid a day apart, so not sure when they will hatch.
Edit - atrocious typos, can't type on my mobile.

I have just been scouring this forum, reading stickies and searching for anything on breeding. I've also scoured the web for as much info as I can find. First things first I believe I need to check if the baby has been fed. I've read about the yolk in the tummy being visible and 8-10 hours later baby needs to be fed by mum. So I've tapped on the box gently as web assures me this will coax any mother out and allow me to quickly check baby. Laughed as I stood there gently tapping the box with John looking at me wondering what the strange lady was doing. Of course Shirley ignored it and stayed put.
I slowly lifted the end door up a little and could see Shirley sat there keeping baby warm and I could see yellow - I am sure it was in it's crop but the position of baby I couldn't be sure, it could have been it's belly. But it was there which is excellent, and means baby is not hungry. I wanted to keep the me disturbing to a minimum, but I had to check, especially after the what happened with Ralph and Agatha's baby.
My heart exploded when I saw Shirley keeping baby warm, god bless her. She moved baby ever so gently with her beak, just melts me.

It's great that they're going to have little chicks. I wonder what colour they will be

One of my friend asked what colour the baby was ....she thought they were born with feathers bless her.
Shirley is an olive green, with a dark blue tail. John is blue (sky blue may be?) with a yellow head. I'm no good with mutations!
Baby is squeaking louder and I looked this morning and it's a lot bigger and had a full crop. I never looked yesterday, trying to find a balance of keeping an eye on everything but not imposing myself on them.
No more hatchings yet.

Maybe your friend thought it was like babies born with a full head of hair sometimes? I'm not great with mutations either, I only really know the easy ones. I do know that with the chicks it cal also depend on what colour their grandparents are too, so it's not easy to guess!
