It is upsetting I can imagine you're feeling very drained with the stress and upset. I suppose it depends if it's just a change in food so an upset tummy which will settle, or if it is an infection that needs a bit more help. Give the GA a try and reassess in the morning, see if the droppings are firming up or getting better in colour. I have used GA as first port of call for splats, I want to give them a chance to get better rather than straight to a stressful vet trip, but ones this runny and green have never got better with out anti biotics. This is only my experience though. See what OH says and decide together. The good thing is Sam is eating, that's a huge plus. Thank you clt80, the vet put it down to a change in his seed, as that's all I have given, that and millet, no greens whatsoever, I had intended letting him settle first. She gave the injection to try and replenish the fluid he lost due to the runny poops. He has just done a poop as I'm typing this and in as much as it's still greeny there is the formation of a poop. He's in the kitchen with me while I'm cooking, the oven is on so he is nice and warm and still covered up on 3 sides. He is back and forth to the millet and water, it's the loss of fluids that worry me, I know he'll be feeling under the weather, but still torn between keeping him here or going to vet.

Awww poor you JB Good sign that there is formation of his poops Had a thought, as he is only 6 weeks what food was he getting from the breeder? Reason I ask is was he giving the youngsters anything different to the adults? Resin is Monty had a similar thing and our budgie mix was scouring her insides to start with (It's when I wasn't too experienced with birds) Still think he needs what the breeder has given him to sort out his tum to get him stable, are you able to contact him and ask abbot it and possibly if you could purchase a bag of what he is using?

I’m rooting for little Sam. It’s so hard with a newbie as you just don’t know them yet so it’s more difficult to gauge how they are doing.

He has little bouts of activity Jane, he was head bobbing to his mirror earlier this afternoon then trying to pull it off the bars, he was so funny. Then he's got his eyes closed and sleeping. Really hope the GA and the seed tomorrow help him.

I've caught up now. I do hope his poops improve with the guardian angel and other seed, and that he doesn't need to go back to the vets again.

I’ve taken her out of quarantine this week (a few days early but only just shy of 30 days) and she’s across the room from the others. It’s like she’s scared to be a budgie. She’s more active in the mornings but quiet at nights. To be fair I’ve just changed jobs and it’s long days in September with training so I’m hoping she’ll integrate better when I’m home more. Let’s hope it’s the same with Sam 🤞🏻

These little birdies sure put our BP up Jane. I can't believe it's almost 30 days since you've had Munchie.

These little birdies sure put our BP up Jane. I can't believe it's almost 30 days since you've had Munchie. They sure do. It’s 24 days today. I got her on the 19th August. I brought her into the living room on day 22 as she’s showing no signs of illness and been an only bird in her previous home. I also had all the buds droppings tested before I put her in the living room (3 days worth with all mixed together) which was all clear. Just for peace of mind. I was hoping she’d gain more confidence quicker than she is but I guess she’ll be slow progress. I haven’t let mine out yet around her but I’ll try the weekend.
