Ha ha. Eeyore must be a magician.
Has she ever laid an egg before?

No, no eggs to date. She's only eight months old by my reckoning!

Magician?
Eeyore must be Zeus if he has impregnated a kakariki!

Please prevent Chocobo from chewing on the carpet or you might find yourself making an emergency dash to a vet. It doesn’t have to take much ingested fibre to make a bird very ill. Some will build up a huge plug of undigested fibre before showing any symptoms but with others it can happen very quickly. Discourage her from any nesting-like behaviours regardless of how cute they may seem.

Thanks for the warning, Hezz.
She's not chewing the carpet, she's raking it with her claws. However, I take the warning seriously and will address the issue today.

Right, I have placed Chocobo-proof boards under the aviaries so hopefully no more tunnelling will take place there. I will have to move up the decorating in the lounge as I need to be rid of that carpet. Chocobo was hiding an egg under there. I will try to weigh her today, if I can.

I know. I feel awful for her. Eeyore let her down but I won't tell him that, he has enough on his plate. That egg though. Ouch. She's not a large parrot!
Patch up a gram this morning from the day before yesterday. And that was before he's had a substantial feed. It's in the right direction.

One of my girls laid this at the bottom of a cage in September 2020. Luckily no more since. It was also bigger than expected! I felt awful throwing it away.

I felt the same way, Marianne. It just felt wrong even though I know there was no chocobo in there.

Eeyore looks very interested in knowing his friends weight

Eeyore is nosy but in this case I think he was just anxious for his turn as he wanted to know how much he himself weighs. He's very self-conscious.

The semi-regular weighing sessions continue but I am having practical difficulties with Eeyore. For the past two weeks his pattern has been to ignore the millet lure attached to the weighing perch until Herman lands on it. He will then land near the perch to watch Herman and size up whether or not to join him. This will go on for a few minutes. If Herman flies away, Eeyore will usually fly away with him. Occasionally Eeyore will remain near the millet and spend a minute or two sizing up whether to land on the perch. Usually one of the other birbs will swoop in whilst Eeyore dithers. My question: is it possible to implant a brain in Eeyore? I love the dear, sweet boy so much but he is not the sharpest beak in the flock.
