loz great that they like the pellets! Which brand did you settle on Harrison's Superfine Lifetime. I can't say they are liked (except by Prothall, the oddball) but they are being eaten to some extent. I do have some slimline budgies now!

That's the pellet I add to my guys food. I have occasionally seen Buddy eat one but I've never seen Tweetie Pie eat one so I'm not sure if he's eating any.

I place a small teaspoon (about 7.5ml) of seeds in most of the food bowls in the morning. The next morning there are no seeds left in those bowls but the birbs are feeding from them throughout the day. With that, and the "pellet powder" I see in the bowls, I conclude that the pellets are being eaten. It's hard to say how often I replenish the pellets themselves - maybe every four days, unless there has been "an accident".
Nobody seems to be starving although I don't wish to see further weight loss amongst some of the Flock. Perry Rhodan & Finarfin in particular although their weights have stabilised now.

Budgie weighing day. Tempers are fraying though. I had to tell Smudge off as not only would she not share the millet bribe on one of the machines, she didn't allow anyone to use the other one! There are some grumpy birds here. I'm tempted to buy a third set of scales ...
I actually nearly forgot about weighing them today. It's been busy. I'd sat down to have a leaf through the avian vet book but that did not go well as Chocobo was either fascinated with the book or she didn't want me reading it. I though it was cats that did that?
Whilst typing this post, I heard a clatter in the kitchen and saw a bunch of budgies flapping about. A old sweetie tin I had put on top of one of the kitchen cupboards (to block off access to a spot on the wall that I had noticed was receiving budgie attention) had fallen into the sink. How? The tin was too heavy for a budgie to move it, I thought but obviously I know nothing. I have a more budgie-resistant solution in place now. Famous last words.
This is how some days go here. Lurching from one unexpected drama to the next with barely a break. Back to the vet training book ...

The Flock's weight has reduced for every budgie I had a question-mark over. Boba could stand to lose another 3-5g but I am pleased with her. Mr Hibs, Finrod both show very good values. All in all, I am delighted.
A consequence of this is some of the flying behaviour. Apart from Hector, Eeyore and Herman, budgie aerobatics are a thing again. I see a lot more zoomies behaviour. Even Mr Hibs & Squeak are indulging. The trade off is I am having to consider crawling when travelling from the lounge to the kitchen or vice versa.

You could pay a lot for a PT to drill you in squats. Budgies are providing for free!

You must have a big set if scales to do that loz I have two sets, each can measure up to 5kg of budgies. I'm thinking of getting a third set, just in case
