Silly question, but did you take a photo of his overnight droppings?

I just thought it might be useful for you, so that you will notice any improvements. I took photos of Billy hoping for improvements, but his droppings are very sloshy. The vet thinks he has kidney and liver issues and said he may not live that long. I give milk thistle and supplements and just try and give them healthy things. I didn't want to put him through an x-ray. I take photos of everything but I did not take pics of that. SMDH. I will do so tomorrow morning.

Poor Billy ❤
I am very conscious of the balancing act between necessary investigation and avoiding unnecessary stress when there's no point. I wish I believed I am wise enough to know what's right but my instinct is normally to avoid inflicting discomfort and trauma. Even at the risk of failing to treat a possibly treatable condition, unfortunately. It is hard for me to overcome that instinct, in case this thread hasn't already told everyone that!
I collected up Patch just now and put him in his cage. In half an hour or so, I'll give him his evening meds. I hate myself for doing this even while I know it must be done. Probably.

Eeyore with the Giant Heart was just feeding Patch through the bars. Patch then popped down to the lower perch to gnaw a bit of cuttlebone. Now preening himself. Bless his lovely soul.

And now Patch is on the floor, picking up seeds that Chocobo just showered him in from the aviary next door.

Completely understand. Twice I had not realised a budgie was sick until it was too late, given meds and they died shortly afterwards Poor Billy ❤ I am very conscious of the balancing act between necessary investigation and avoiding unnecessary stress when there's no point. Patch was beak-grinding this evenin, which made me feel very guilty about grabbing him and feeding him his meds. I left him five minutes or so, with his grinding.
He was a bit frisky this time and escaped my hand so I had a few minutes chasing him around the kitchen. Then he learned the trick of not opening his mouth I hope I managed to dose him this time, it wasn't as certain as this morning's effort.
He had his back to me after all that, I hope I'll be forgiven!

I take it as a good sign that Patch is putting up more of struggle for his medicine. I've noticed that with my boys that they get harder to catch/hold on to when they are feeling better.

That's what I found when Mr Hibs was ill. His struggles got more and more effective. His last feed delivery ended up all over his face and he had a mucky face feather for weeks afterwards (I would have had to anaesthetise him to wash his face!).
Patch is a gentle soul, I hardly notice when he tries, not very convincely, to bite me. I cannot wait for this week of treatment to end.

Meds were difficult today and I had an audience - the entire DPA. I have been preparing two syringes at a time in case of slip-ups and I used both Baytrill doses this morning as I think the first shot missed. And Patch has such a firm grip with his feet, it took a while to tease him off of the bars, his perch and the food bowl. By popular demand, a pic of Patch's droppings from last night. Not many at all and of disappointing quality. There are two on the edges of the pic, that were of decent consistency. I'm thinking, hopefully, that the poop issue is meds related. Oh, and he had a very decent movement immediately after the dosing.

They don't look too bad, I zoomed in and it's hard to tell if they are wet or dry. I use newspaper at the bottom of my cages and have a towel under that to provide a soft landing if a budgie should fall off their perch. In comparison, this is what Billy's dropping look like.

Billy's look comparable to my eye.
I found a towel in the bottom of the cage to be indispensable when Hibs was ill. He couldn't stand but he was able to keep his body upright and head up by leaning against the edges of the towel. I'm convinced this help him recover.
There is nothing sadder than the sight of a budgie splayed out on his tummy or chest and seeing Hibs like that shattered my heart. If Patch needs a towel he will have one!
Edit: Patch's droppings are soft and only wet if he's had trauma - capture, mainly.
