Yeah, I think so, Marianne! I think I will have to go through the bush behind me and hit the road there next week, rather than go down the drive ......... chances are I'll fall over something and break my bl**dy leg too! I have a little torch - may have to invest in something a little stronger. Camomile tea, Stace??? I think Mac would need half a plantation of the stuff to have any effect!! Good thinking, I wonder if there is a chamomile extract? High concentration, by about x100???

I'd scatter a few more leaves while she's out too ;D
Perhaps on her doorstep.

I'd scatter a few more leaves while she's out too ;D Perhaps on her doorstep. ;D HA HA HA!!! ;D You could also scatter bird food on her roof - create a bird feeding station, she won't care about the leaves then she'll be too busy cleaning up the bird poops ;D

Ha, Ha, Ha, oh, me too!!!! I could just take some budgie seed with me - the starlings would love it, noisy little beggars. Drop it all onto her car. Or earlier, some pieces of meat - the kookaburras are really loud!! Then she may not even hear Mac moaning! Snigger, snigger!! ;D ;D

LOL!!! Was going to ask what sort of birds are in your area Hezz - as we only need to attract the seagulls here to get a lot of noise, oh and that comes with large bird poops too! ;D

OH HEZZ! God, I am so sorry to hear your news lets keep our fingers crossed though for Mac. If its any consolation (which is difficult at this time, I understand) if the worst does come to the worst he will be able to manage with 3. But let us know as soon as you know how he is. My thoughts are with you all x Thanks, Sam. At last some good news!!! It seems the original dog bite broke both bones in his foreleg, which they didn't realise at the time as they didn't xray it. Just treated him for the infection from the bite; that healed and all seemed good. But all his running around like a mad thing, in some way he cracked the healing calcification around the break, so basically re-broke the bone. It didn't take too much as it hadn't properly healed. So poor mutt is restricted to on the lead walks for the next 4-6 weeks and then we see how things are getting on. I am so relieved; the poor dog deserves a break - very bad pun, I know! hi hezz so glad hes not loosing his leg thats great news .... speedy recovery isn't a option ...but slow and sure is best ...poor mac...but at least you no for sure what it is ...and that's a good thing... ..

Thanks Mick. It is going to be a long month or more, but by then we should be well down the track to fully healed. I cleared my little path this morning, so I shouldn't get caught up in wait-a-while vine, or trip over any rocks, hopefully I will make enough noise for any self-respecting snake or feral pig to be long gone. ;D

And there's me who gets freaked about Crane Flies on my front door! (They lay in wait to ambush me you see) ;D

Oh, Sam! ;D Actually I never knew what those funny looking mozzie-like things were called. So there you go, I have learnt another thing - they are crane flies. (Had to google them you see;)). I am sure they could do someone one hell of a lot of damage, especially if they get together and gang up on a poor itty-bitty human! Will up-date tomorrow on my darkness bush trek of about 50 metres or so.

I survived, lol, without any mishaps. Although Mac knew I was up, he didn't know I had scooted out the back door (he is around the front). We don't have a physical fence, but an electronic one, so at night he is tied up. My OH complained that Mac went back and forth dragging his chain over the pebbles, from his kennel to the front door. I did come back and give him a short walk, which so far doesn't seem to have caused him any grief. Maybe I can give him a bit long tomorrow. Sam, this is just for you (I thought of you straight away): It is dark still when I get back to the house, upstairs to wash my doggy hands before making the lads lunches for school. Wash, wash, do lunches, need the loo, am washing hands again to discover a huntsman spider in the basin trying desperately to climb the side of the basin and literally throwing itself up the sides trying to get out. It was a relatively small one, about 2" across - they can grow to the size of a man's palm, and they are harmless, but gave me a fright as I didn't see it first off - it was on the side closest to me, and I must have just about had my hands on top of it, twice! So while the outdoors didn't try to get me, the crawlies came inside to find me.

OMG! Now, spiders don't usually bother me but as for a huntsman being harmless? HARMLESS?!!! Dont they bite? Not poionous but can bite?!!! No, my partner is more anti spider than me. Glad you survived tho!
Just for you Hezz, let me tell you a story...
My partner is 6ft3 2nd row rugby guy. One Christmas I got the tree out and as it is sinthetic it needs to have its branchs pulled out into making the "tree shape". The tree was stored in the shed (we don't have a loft as we are in a flat) but as my partner was on the floor pulling out the bottom branches a dead house spider husk dropped out of the tree. He said "oh look a dead spider" to which I silently blew at it and it shot 90mph accross the room. My bloke screamed and threw is hands up in the air like a girl!
His excuse? Dead spides DON'T run ;D

This huntsman, freaking me out in my living room, was the size of a small lorry.

Oh Sam, I laughed so hard! What's the saying - the biggest trees in the forest fall the hardest!?!? ;D That's immediately what I thought! All seems to be going well with the walking. No limping so far and each day a little longer. Tommorrow will be back to a full length walk as long he is okay today, and everything is fine so far. He so badly wants to have a run around, but tough luck, Mac. Cruel to be kind, I have to remember that.
