I should add that in different lights he is either more green than blue and others more blue than green, and a little brighter than this photo shows.

We must first establish if he has Grey Factor.
Are the cheek patches Grey? What is the tail color?

Grey Factor is a color adding Factor. So if a budgie has a Grey Factor, the grey color will be added to the original body color.

His/her tail feathers are yellow with a white quill, with a tiny touch of dark marking right on the tips underneath ..... not sure if these are fully grown out yet, as they have grown by the centimetre since I have had the bird. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I do think they are now fully grown, though. What can be seen of his cheek patches in the photo is about as good as I could begin to describe them ...... kind of a bluey/grey. The photo is a good representation.

Do these help, BB? ![](http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h381/phmax/Budgeriagars/DSCF1861_zps5a3fda36.jpg) ![](http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h381/phmax/Budgeriagars/DSCF1859_zps37982265.jpg) I probably need to get more recent ones of the tail feathers.

After seeing the photos BB showed us of Nev's bird as a youngster and adult, I will be interested to see if Mango completely loses the blue-ness on his body colour. It seems that this is more than likely. Sounds like Mango would more likely be a Grey-green spangle, I think.

I am certainly interested on what mutation Mango is I have never seen anything like him x An easy way to remember this, if a budgie has a Grey Factor, the word Grey be in his name. So a Green Budgie with Grey Factor will be Grey Green. And a Green Budgie with Two Dark Factors will be Olive.

Grey Green Spangle is what I initially thought, and that's what I still think, because of the Grey cheek patches I see in the pictures. I know how the budgie colors can look different to some non-breeders. You post about Mango having some bluish look made me think twice.

![](http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll78/nev90/ghg002.jpg) The two having backs towards the camera are Nev's Yellow Face Spangles. So these are Blue series birds but looking like Greens.
