How about the suggestion of local rescue centres, Geoff?
Also, starlingqueen has been offering a possible way forward...?

Geoff, If someone will take the bird you could always ask if someone can collect (or take) the cage(s) to a charity shop perhaps?
I will also donate £5 if it will help, let me know. If I was nearer I'd sneak him in somehow but I'm at the other end (and other side) of the country!

If this courier idea isn't going to work I will make the journey and collect everything. I couldn't bear to think there was not an easy solution. If the poor little soul can make the journey then so can I.

And how would you get there, I take it you don't drive any more with your eye problems?

I thought he meant bring him to you SQ Oh, that is far too far for him to travel and would cost far too much.

Well I do still drive I have full clearance to do so. My eyesight defect affects the central vision only at the moment. I did think long and hard about it and yes maybe he would be a companion for Joey, especially as he is an older bird not much older than Joey. It most certainly would be too long a journey to transport Whiskers down to the south coast from Diss. I used to do such journeys from my home to Diss and beyond in my younger days, so I used to know my way around the country from top to bottom and East to West. So if it is acceptable to everyone that is what I will do.

I am so glad this is going to have a great ending whatever. So, are you going to keep him now OP? I think I am up to date?

That would be the perfect solution Pops, but only if it's what you want. No one would want you to feel obliged to take him. But if you do really want him then I too would be willing to donate to the cost of your petrol.

Oops you posted whilst I was typing. I have no idea on the cost of petrol so we can leave that for now. Thank you everyone for the kind offers. I'll sort that out later.
