How far are you from Diss? All I know is I am about 2 hours from there, but my geography is not good further north.
I too wipuld like to help with petrol.

Well Dis is quite a bit further from where I live. If you look on Google Maps, Diss is North East of where you live. It is South East of Where I live. At a rough guess I would say 4 to 5 hours from here. Once I get an address I will be able to map the journey and give a better journey time. I think I will need plenty of sandwiches.

Gosh, still a long way! Will you have him in the cage? Bailey loves being in the car
Yes, a hearty breakfast, flak and sandwiches

I've just checked the route and Google says in current traffic 3 rs 30 mins. 199 miles. Well there is a small cage and a large one. He could travel in the small cage. The large one should fit in the back of my Noddy Van. Do you put a cover over Bailey ffiscool?

I have a thin cloth over 3 sides, with the end nearest me, open so Bailey can see me but not be scared possibly by other things going past. He sits on the top perch chatting, but obv this is different. Geoff will know how he will be probably.

At least with the cages you will have a quarantine cage. Are you sure you've thought this through Pops? Double trouble, double worry and double the fun!!!

Oh I have been thinking hard. Double the food, poop where does it end. It might be just what Joey needs.

Well I hope Whiskers has got good gripping power in his feet. My motor is not known for a smooth ride. It is a Daihatsu Hijet. AKA Noddy Van.

Thank you all for the effort in helping! I did check with vets, but they only suggested putting up a notice on their board. Not too happy with that as I wouldn't be sure he was going to someone who cared.
OP I have no doubt Whiskers would love your Joey, and visa versa. He needs company, something I just cannot guarantee being able to give him just now. I will sent an email with my address and tel. I'm retired so no problem about when you would like to come round.
Geoff - Feeling much happier now that Whiskers is going to a good home.
