It's great that the vet has pinpointed the problem so quickly. Get better soon, Boo!

An hour's drive to the vet, a 30-second flushing procedure, then an hour's drive back! (The flushing is just a crop feed of some sort of goup mixed with meds.)
Boo's on his meds for a week, then we're back to the vet for a check-up to see that it's sorted. Then six weeks of supplements in his seed and water.
The good thing is that he hasn't ingested foreign matter and caused a gut blockage this time (rope, fibre, paper, carpet or whatever), but he has picked up some sort of nasty bug from the environment somehow. Could be something like in grout, or a crevice he's picked at, or contaminated food.
We've had a long run of hot, humid weather in Sydney, so I wouldn't be surprised if weird stuff is growing in nooks and crannies.
The vet even said it could be the raspberries he's eaten off our plates.
I'm a fairly fastidious housekeeper, but sometimes I just wonder how I can possibly keep up with this bird. *Sigh*.

It could be anything, anywhere. It is impossible to eliminate everything.

I know what you mean stace! I am so fastidious when it comes to cleaning everything re food and poop and stuff but I guess you cant protect them from everything. But thanks to the vet he has performed yet another miracle. Huge Respect to Mr E Vet Nose nuzzles to Boo x

Update: Detective inspector Stace has been trolling up and down the house, seeking answers to what Boo is getting into this time to make himself sick. And I think I've found it. He's picking at a tiny gap in the kitchen mixer tap mechanism. Mother plucking bird! I've just caught him at it. So I've placed a plastic 'sock' over it for the meantime. Though I'm not sure this is going to be a permanent fix.

Is there nothing that little tyke will leave alone in your kitchen stace? Perhaps you should just bar him from the kitchen full stop! Love him

Watching and reading from afar, with the best of hope and hopes for one of Goldie's many far-flung cousins - certainly one of the most compelling ones.

Here's the offending tap. Now with a homemade prophylactic device as a temporary barrier.

It must be a nightmare to keep tabs on him if your open plan like that . What is it with them, my Chilli has an obsession with the water feeders on the cages, he goes round chewing round the rims where the bottom bit meets the fountain picking and picking, reading about Boo and your tap reminded me what an obsession it is, its a good job they get scrubbed every day . I hope Boo continues to do well stace.
