No baby buds yet It seems the first one was a dud, but the second won't be due until the 13th. Now bearing in mind there was 5 days between the first and the second, and then every egg that followed was bang on time, the likelihood that the first was always going to be a dud was a big possibility. With eggs 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 being one day apart, I'm pinning my hopes certainly on eggs 3 and upwards. I'll keep you posted.

Well we are back from our weekend break, and no baby buds yet I candled them again today, and a couple of Mim's were clear, so I tossed those out. There is one which has a dark mass inside but I cannot see any blood vessels (could it be near to hatching?), whereas the other definitely has mass and blood vessels. Mildred's 2 that she adopted from Mim also seem to be clear. Overall at this stage it seems a bit of a false start, but we still have a few days left as the last one ever laid is due on the 23rd, and I'm hoping that those with the masses inside are due soon.

I checked the boxes this morning after finishing night shift and Mim still had all of eggs, but having just risen from my bed, I went and checked and there it was, the squiggly little thing, no bigger than the tip of my finger. Mim and Brian were chirping away, clearly happy with themselves. Oh I hope she has another chick from her other good looking egg. Time to cook up some egg food me thinks!

Yes thank you for reminding me skysmum. I just made up some boiled egg, carrot and broccoli, and Brian loves it. Little chicky is chirping away, so hopefully mum is feeding him. Mim was keeping a very close eye on him and guarding him, so I couldn't see his crop, but he stopped chirping so I assume mum has fed him. He is so small, standing on his feet but head is too heavy lol. I will get some photos soon, don't want to disturb them too much.
