Brilliant, how exciting. Did you enjoy Paris? Yes we certainly did suesbird. It's the third time of going, and we took the boy and his girlfriend as she had never been before. We got engaged there back in (I can't really remember...... hope the wife doesn't read this lol) and really love the place. We like the café culture, just sitting watching the world go by, drinking wine and eating good food. I mean coffee, yes, coffee
We stayed at the Pullman hotel which is about 200 yards from the Eiffel Tower, and had a full view from our window. It's gorgeous at night when the sparkling lights come on every hour for 5 minutes. We done the usual sights again, up the tower, Sunday Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral where I lit a candle for my sister, The Louvre to see old Mona again, she's still there! Then a long walk up the Avenue des Champs Elysees taking in the shops, onto the Arc de Triomphe, then back to the Tower. We walked around 8 miles on Sunday, but that wine coffee at the end was so well deserved. And, the Paris Marathon was on (which we didn't know at the time of booking), and the winner of the women's race was sat next to us at breakfast on Monday morning at the hotel eating a massive plate of pastries. Mind you, she probably went and done another 26 mile run shortly after to burn it off again.
Enough of our break, I just got home from night work and checked the birds, and little E.T. made it through the night, so I've replenished the fresh food and water, inc. soaked seeds, and Brian was straight back into the food, so he's doing his job. I don't want to handle the chick just yet as I don't want mum to abandon him, and because he had his back to me I couldn't see his crop, however as he has made it through the night I'm guessing he is being feed. He even appears to have grown slightly I kid you not.
I'll check again when I get up this afternoon.
Thanks for all of you kind words everyone

Just checked again and he has a full crop, and looking good. That's brilliant . Its amazing how the parents know exactly what to do, egg food that sometimes isn't touched normally is hoovered up with gusto at this time.

Hi Daz, Not as good as I'd expected mate, only one at the moment but possibly two more to come. The chick is now 3 days old and is already get his down feathers showing, and seems to be growing quite quickly. My last egg to hatch is due on the 23rd, so any left after that will be candled again, and if clear I will remove them and see if they'll have another round. I will continue with updates. Are you getting back into it darrenc271? Best wishes if you are mate. Daz

We have another baby alien! Born (hatched) this evening whilst building the outside aviary amongst all of my banging, sawing and nailing! The size difference between E.T. and the new one is really noticeable. I will let them settle and hope to get you some photos of the new one soon. I also need to ring the first one in the next couple of days, so excited to be doing this, ringing my first baby budgie with my own B.S. number!
