Hi everyone. I've finally taken away the two clear eggs from Mim, so she now has just the two young buds to worry about.
Mildred has laid another egg, so we are at 2 now. I hope this round will be better for her.

Not yet Sue, I will wait until I can tell their sexes. If they are a boy and a girl then I will probably name them after my parents, Rose and Dave If it is two girls then they will probably be Sue and Doreen, after my late sister and late auntie. Two boys will be Rob and Bill after my late uncle and granddad. Mildred now has 4 eggs! She seems to be looking after these so much better than the first lot. Lol, I'm going to run out of names soon

Sad news........... we have lost the youngest chick. I checked them last night and both were fine, but this morning the youngest was dead, and flat. I'm guessing that the eldest was getting all the food from mum and dad, even though I was also putting an extra finger drawer of fresh egg food in the nest box every now and then so mum wasn't so reliant on dad, and could feed them when she wanted. The eldest was quite bigger than the youngest, and there was 5 days between them, so I expected the size difference. I'm guessing that he was more "needy" when it came to feeding time, and he got more than the little'un.
