They were ready, then, from the sounds of it. Nice to have a move without any trauma attached; well done everyone; you too, Learner.

The move seems to have been accepted. I am hoping "we" have a peaceful night as there's no chance of popping back into the nest-box for a cosy snooze. Spending the whole night on a perch will be a new experience for Tom and for Gerry. To help avoid any night-fright I have tried to position the night-light so that they can just about see their way around their new quarters. It's only a very small LED night-light similar to the ones my mother has either side of her bed so it should do the trick. It'll be a chilly night with outside temperatures down to 4 0C in the country-side but hopefully only as low as 7 where we are and warmer still in the aviary. I had considered putting the heating back on for them but decided the noise of a small fan-heater might be more of a problem than a nippy night. Hezz they certainly were ready food-wise. The millet spray was stripped in an hour! They also energetically dived into a bowl of grated carrot and egg-food. A new mixture for them but they loved it. Photos? They obliged so tomorrow I will try to find time to transfer and upload some... promise.

They might appreciate their little hide going with them for the nights. When I first brought Mango home, she spent the first few nights sleeping in her little box, even though she perched up during the day.

Thanks Hezz - I didn't think of putting the hide in. As far as I know neither of them went in it. Tonight I have put the heater back in place as it's going to be another cold one - down to 4 degrees tonight so thermostat set at 9. Photos still in the pipeline...tired & busy today.

Oh well, that's good they didn't need it, but nicer for them to have it and not need it than the other way round. Waiting patiently .........

Does it take everyone ages to upload and then paste photos?
Here we are (at silly o'clock in the morning) another more up-to-date splash of pictures:
Oiked out of the family residence and on show:
Stealing the limelight:
Behind bars again but in our very own pad!
Not the best of photos but it shows the two of them and the different greens: This is Tom... And this is Gerry... The two of us:

Two very pretty little boys. Tom and Gerry. I just love baby budgies' eyes ..... they are so sweet and innocent, totally endearing.
