The difference in his feathers is tremendous. you must be doing all the right things for such development. I have seen them many times, adults that is, pecking around a bird-feeder that I have hung up. I can only assume they are after the spilt seed. So budgie seed might be a favourite when the time comes. You are The Bird Woman of Southeast Kent.

How about one of those cuddly toy type wheat bags or hot water bottles for warmth? (when it's not practical to put him in your clothes of course!) and having something to snuggle up against will be more like how it would be in the nest. I have seen similar techniques on the telly for raising abandoned penguin chicks where they are given a soft toy and a heat lamp... just a thought...

That would not be the same as being next to a breathing warm body with a heartbeat. I know which I would prefer. Snuggle up with a warm body or have an inanimate wheat bag.!!!

What with the cozy spot in your bra and his panty liner he's all set, starlingqueen! This image reminded me of my friend who keeps rats. Occasionally she forgets that she has a rat residing in her clothes or snoozing in her bag and one time she gave the checkout assistant at the co-op the fright of her life when a rat popped out onto the counter when she was paying for her stuff!

Been told by people on a pigeon forum that I wont be able to release this baby back into the wild. They imprint on humans too deeply that they can't survive if released. They go to people for food and when they don't get it they starve to death. Looks like I've got a pet dove. Here he is in his favourite spot.

I was wondering that Wendy, he has had so much human contact I think he would be bullied as well as not being able to fend for himself. Never mind, you have another little lovely to add to your menagerie.

I am not surprised that he will not be able to fend for himself, now. Poor little fella, but at least he is alive, and not cat food!

How about a name meaning life? Eva for girl or Evan for boy Afterall, it has been given the chance of life and sometimes animals or even humans don't even get that chance xx
