Agree with you there Marianne Marlow, I think it may be megabacteria if Alfie is eating. Just read an article on it which I have sent to samwiseg, so she perhaps may change her mind from it being Trichomoniasis. Only she (Sam) can know as Alfi is her bird and lets face it, we all know our own birds too well. Also like your tip about a payment plan, these birds can be so expensive sometimes, lets hope the vet will do this for Sam, she (the vet) seems a good one.

Thoughts and prayers for you and Alfie, Sam. Hopefully the vet will figure out what is wrong. Poor little guy.

I will be onto the vets as soon as they open today. Alfie is one poorly little bud, this is what he brought up just now which has to be the worst thing yet They open at 8.30 Thanks for all your advice and comments, I have taken on and will do everything I can

The picture is showing here. It looks quite serious to my untrained eye. Good luck to you both.

I think the trouble is that it would be so many different things, this is why a crop swab and test is absolutely necessary.
Megabacteria, Canker, even could be an infection or heavy metal poisoning (possibly not because I doubt he's chomped on any metal).
