He looks a beauty, full of mischief if I dare say. I hope he gets on with your buds.

He's a stunning boy Hezz. Look forward to hearing more about him. I'll bet that's an experience when this big boy starts flying 😉 Will he be ok with the buds.

Hello Loki, you're a handsome chap! I want to tickle his belly, would that get me bitten?
Will he be able to mix with the budgies Hezz?
I know I always ask this about different birds, but how do you tell the sex with Sun Conures?

He looks a beauty, full of mischief if I dare say. I hope he gets on with your buds. Full of mischief - probably! He is a beauty, and a lovely chap. He's a stunning boy Hezz. Look forward to hearing more about him. I'll bet that's an experience when this big boy starts flying 😉 Will he be ok with the buds. He is the length of a ruler - 12" in the old money (or your money, maybe ), so not too big; I can't wait until he is airbourne. Will he be okay with the budgies? we will have to wait and see. That will definitely be a lot of supervised time out, once his quarantine time is over. Hello Loki, you're a handsome chap! I want to tickle his belly, would that get me bitten? Will he be able to mix with the budgies Hezz? I know I always ask this about different birds, but how do you tell the sex with Sun Conures? He has been DNA tested, so definitely a boy, and no, a tickle on his belly will not get you bitten! He's lovely like that - has a way of letting me know what he isn't happy to do, but the family he came from have two little pre-school girls and he had never hurt them and never drawn blood on the adults either. I really do hope that he and the budgies will be able to interact, or more likely, co-exist, without a problem. Time will tell .... I will definitely keep the information coming.

Beautiful bird, so sad he's been clipped, quite severely by the look of it, my father has an amazon meally who we look after sometimes and although my dad can do anything with him he is not very social with others and would quite happily snap off your finger! Keep us all posted.

It is going to be quite some time before he gets any flight, I feel; he has a head full of pinnies at the moment and is very much into getting scratches ... almost to the exclusion of all else. Probably very good for our bonding. I have been trying to get hold of his breeder. Tried Facebook, Gumtree, phone but nothing! Really quite put off by them to be honest. I am looking for some insight into his needs; you would think they could take the time to respond for the sake of the bird!

I could swear!!! I could swear VERY loudly! OH started doing the housework before I got home this morning ..... he put the budgies out onto the deck, as is his usual ... right next to Loki's cage. There was no point in ranting and raving but .......... GRRR

There was no point in ranting and raving but .......... GRRR I feel your frustration, I have just gone through same thing with my OH, he thought it would be a good idea to take Buddy through to have a look at new bird, I walked in and he was sat next to new birds cage with buddy on his shoulder. Saying 'I thought buddy might like to see his new friend' give me strength!

I did rather pointedly say that it wasn't a good thing to have done, and quarantine was basically out the door ..... (onto the deck!) It wasn't purposefully done; just didn't think.
