I measure the water carefully. I have to take an inhaler twice a day and because it has steroids I have to rinse my mouth out with water. So occasionally I tip the remainder of the water in in the pot whatever I have used.

The celery looks great, it'd be nice to see pics of Oscar and the others trying it

I'll see what they think in a couple of days. I have put some more compost in the top of the pot and tied the stalks together a bit to try and get some shape. They do like celery so it will be good to try them with it.

I have two tubs of sprouts in the fridge - alfalfa and mung beans. Not sure that the budgies have been near either, Loki prefers the bigger mung bean sprouts, but will mix it up, but mostly it's me eating the alfalfa.

I could eat the alfalfa sprouts on their own with a bit of salt and pepper

Sam, now you have your patio, the grass pot can be outside. You may well have more success that way, also.

Well what happened to everyone's millet gorwing? Did anyone have any success? clt80 sweetpea Marianne Marlow ?
This is as far as I got, couldn't seem to get any further but harvested it yesterday for the buds. Murh and Nubbs wern't all that enamoured but Marley thought it was a new toy and to his delight discovered it was an edible toy at that and had a whale of a time! Mine grew long but no millet appeared so I gave the grass to the budgies to eat; I still think it was worthwhile as they loved the grass and I've got another batch growing currently.

Glad the birdies appreciated the grass, clt80. I think I am lucky, they will eat anything!! You only need a good eater, or a greedy one, and then they all follow suit.

Poor wood pigeons my Ar$£! They have the biggest appetites going, destroy my bird feeders and still want more! (I do scatter some for them on the ground though so they do get their share M)
