None Oh no. Really? No birds at all? That would be awful for me. I love to hear them singing outside, and watch them up close when I can. None Is it too arid BB for birds where you are,it's hard to believe you don't have any.... I have seen some brown small quails when we drove deep in the desert. They live in the desert bushes. Some pigeons too but they belonged to pigeons racers. People also own eagles and falcons here. But nothing in the parks, gardens and balconies etc. I think because the temperatures reach up to 52 °C in summers.

I did watch The Big Year (2011) yesterday and I realized that people can watch over 750 birds in one year.

It must be hard living in that kind of heat. Every now and again it can reach around the low 40s here in Sydney. Without air con, it is really unbearable. I guess if it's difficult for humans to function in those temps, it would be the same for many birds - as well as other animals.

When the dawn chorus starts you have to be up and out like me Sue......... Huh, I wish...... ;D[/quote] We get a pre-dawn chorus which usually I love as I am out walking then, but when the weekend comes around, and there is a chance of a later rising..........I can't sleep through it. Some birds have sounds that they seemingly only use at that time. Once it starts to get light, they switch into daytime mode.

The kookaburras start about 4.30am. And when one gets going, usually two or three more join in. Brings a smile to my face every time I hear them. Then one a street over will take over and so the laughing goes on. I have heard some foreigners freaking out over our "birds that laugh at you"............I see it as bird who laugh for you and with you.

In Cricket, they use Kookaburra balls in Australia. I never knew it was named after a bird. Was it laughing, looked more shouting to me
