My garden doesn't get many birds as there are too many cats and high walls so the birds don't feel safe I suspect. The birds that regularly visit my garden are blackbirds, magpies, wood pigeons, wrens, blue tits and dunnocks. Sometimes the occassional robin. However, there are trees in the surrounding gardens so I often see quite a few other species from my garden/house, such as collared dove, greenfinch, chaffinch, goldfinch, bullfinch, long-tailed tit, coal tit, great tit, starling, pied wagtail, mistle thrush, song thrush, redwing, carrion crow and jackdaw. If I remember, I'll be back to let you know what birds are in my garden on the Isle of Man

I don't get much but ive saw tree creepers and nuthatches, bullfinches too near my area so I'm going to try and attract them. Hopefully pretty soon I'm going to be ordering some hedging and native flowers for the garden. I'm hoping after that I'll start seeing more birds in the garden. Nice one Ryan, have you got a bird table? Not yet I do have a Station sort of thing though which I put food and water on. Hedging order today (plenty Holly for cover and berries during the winter ,hawthorn and blackthorn, beech, bird cherry, scotch Rose and ivy and honeysuckle.) now I just need to get the wildflowers and re-do the lawn(it's a bit scraggy just now )

I'm really looking too attract nuthatches, bullfinches, wrens and robins they're all such stunning birds especially the bullfinch. Bullfinches and nuthatches are hard too attract though with them being quite shy birds and I live next to a main road with 2 noisy dogs

Brian, I'm going over to the Isle of Man to work for the summer, hence my new garden!
I love bullfinches too. This year is the first that I've noticed them out the back of my house, but maybe I'm just paying more attention this year!

All the best to you, it's a place I have never been, keep us updated as to how your doing, what about your budgies? Thank you! I am leaving my birds at home and my parents are looking after them. There'll be some strict rules in place! I would have taken them, but it's too awkward to sort out, and too expensive to rent an apartment. If I end up there on a more permanent basis, then I'll be back to get them ;D

Digged over one area and planted what will hopefully become a small meadow. Just need to wait for the hedging to come then there will be some brambles, gooseberries, hollys and roses going behind the Miny meadow for cover. I've put the bird bath up in that area and two feeding stations. In the middle of digging over another small area too put down some more wildflower seed which will hopefuy become a minature meadow Aswell. It's amazing the amount of earwigs and earwig larvae I keep finding. I hope once this gets astablished properly in a couple of years it should attract plenty of seed eating and berry eating birds.

Yes it sounds excellent Ryan. I wish more people would appreciate the value of wildflowers. You'll have lots of lovely bees and butterflies! I want a wildflower meadow in my future garden!
