Last night I noticed that Bertie had a yellow discharge from his cere.
It was late so I couldn't do anything about it at that time.
This morning, his eye on that side was gummed shut. He's managed to get it open now, it doesn't look sore.
We're taking him to the vet this afternoon.
Honestly, this couldn't have come at a worse time. Today is a bit of a busy nightmare and I have had to cancel a doctors appointment to be able to get him to the vet later.
Plus, Eve is grabbing literally everything that she shouldn't at the moment and being a bit of a moany rat-bag.
I don't think they have an avian vet but I am guessing this is just an antiobiotics job and the guy did consult with an avian vet last time when I took Lucy (she had practically the same thing as Bertie)

I hope the vet is able to help.
As for Eve, she is just being an inquisitive little girl trying Mum's patience 😂😂
You need eyes in the back of your head when they're that age Marianne.

I hope not, but sounds like it might be a sinus infection. Hopefully just respiratory, and not yet in the sinuses, and early intervention will give Bertie a resolution to his problem. Toddlers always find the worst time to play up.

Sorry to read about Bertie, hope the vet can sort him out quickly and it's not too serious. Baby girls are a nightmare at that age Marianne Marlow, into everything, all at the wrong times. Good luck with re-arranging your appointment. Hope it's nothing serious too.

Unfortunately we didn't get to the vet. I had to cancel the appointment. Yesterday we had an emergency regarding our floors. We've had damp floors for some time and finally someone came to inspect them. They condemned our flat and we had to move out. So spent all day moving things, well, Paul did, I looked after Eve and the budgies. I cannot let the budgies out as we have no curtains and the kitchen is open plan We're working out a way to put up a curtain where the kitchen door should be. Also, putting something over the windows, so we can hopefully let them out tomorrow. I'm so stressed and feel so guilty about Bertie. I have rearranged his appointment for Monday.

Wow!!! I can't imagine having to move immediately with a baby, budgies and everything else! Try not to stress and I hope it all works out well.

Agree with tweetiepiesmom, moving at the drop of a hat would stress anyone. Will they fix your flat Marianne to allow you to move back in at a later date? Hope you get your new place sorted to suit you and the birdies.
