Just watching a senior clinical lecturer from Exeter University saying if everyone is wearing masks then there is less virus circulating in the air and therefore the spread of infection is reduced. I suppose the most dangerous thing about this virus is that many people have no symptoms, don't realise they have Covid, and meanwhile they are spreading it around when they breathe, when they talk, and many other ways. I saw a woman in Aldi licking her fingers to try to open a plastic bag, then picking out tomatoes. I really had to bite my tongue! Maybe I should have said something but I'm not that sort of person. She just should have known better and whilst there's that sort of stupidity around the virus will spread.

I have not started going out much - just one or two trips a week to the grocery store. I got my smiley face mask and wore it out to the store this morning. Fortunately, while I was at the store everyone was wearing a mask.

Love the mask! I just have a plain black one! I have not started going out much - just one or two trips a week to the grocery store. I got my smiley face mask and wore it out to the store this morning. Fortunately, while I was at the store everyone was wearing a mask.

Yes, great mask tweetiepiesmom, puts my plain black mask to shame. Did you see any other smiley masks while you were out? I've be avoiding the shops but I had to go to a small Tesco's yesterday and I realised just how weird the experience is when you can't see peoples faces properly. I was smiling at people and realised that they had no idea what was going on behind my mask. I'm not complaining about wearing the mask at all, it just felt odd to be smiling away to myself

No, willowsmum I didn't see anyone else with a smiley face mask or any mask that showed a facial expression. I also miss people not seeing that I'm smiling at them. I try to sound pleasant when I talk. It just seems everybody is so grumpy.

I know what you mean TPM, it's hard to convey a smile, even with words. Your mask will help though!

Here we go again! Cases are on the rise so we are on the verge of another lock down. It was just announced that indoor businesses are closing. Restaurants can have outdoor dining with social distancing but no indoor dining. Stores can have sidewalk sales but no indoor sales. Churches can hold services outside but no gatherings inside. Hair and nail salons must close. Grocery stores and pharmacies will operate as they have been since the virus first hit. If the rise of cases continues, another stay at home order will go out.

I spent a good five minutes trying to get a bag open just this morning - a cool morning and dry fingers. I was very conscience of wanting to but not actually doing exactly that!

Whenever I go out, I put a sanitizing wipe in a ziplock bag in my handbag just in case the store doesn't have any to wipe down the shopping cart handles (not all stores have them out). I find I can wipe my fingers on the wipe to get them wet and open up the plastic bags. Yes, Hezz they are very difficult to open with dry fingers!

The latest thing in coronavirus sanitisation is sanitising the air using an aerosol disinfectant. It's beginning to feel like I work in the chemical industry not cleaning! I'll need to wear breathing apparatus whilst plying my mop the way things are going

I do wonder how good those disinfecting aerosols are for our lungs. They are using them here when the stores, etc. close but are the simple face masks good enough protection for the people who are spraying?

I've been in our local Boots the chemist twice this week and seen customers without face masks, also in the supermarket.
I asked the assistant "Was it not made compulsory to wear a mask in shops, her reply was, "yes, but some people are exempt, and we can't challenge them"
If they are exempt, a shop assistant should have the right to ask for proof of exemption, or they should be made to wear something to prove this.
They just can't be bothered, or just don't care in my opinion.
