We are on a nationwide lockdown now until the 1st of December. Honestly though it is so different to the last one in that schools are open and there are so many moving around still. I can only imagine the run on the shops when they open again š the pubs that serve booze only and no food still havenāt opened since March so a lot of peopleās livelihoods are destroyed. On the plus side our numbers have stabilised but if they save Christmas and open up again in December which is the plan, January is going to be horrific cases wise again. I hope we do go into lockdown again. I can't see anything else working. It's sad that you have to read about it in the papers before the government announce it (if they do).

For the first time in months, I have seen the curve flattening at my place. I doubt if they aren't able to capture such high numbers?! Though it seems to be a good news, I'm sure we would get a second wave, just like every other country! They had been talking about lockdown, but I don't think so the economy downfall and the poverty would allow it again. I'm not expecting anything till the end of Dec 2021. If it vanishes earlier, I would be happy at least! š§” You've already had one lockdown Mona, yes? Here they are talking about maybe a third and fourth wave. I hope a vaccine emerges before then. I would be happy to be a guinea pig for my age group.

Yeah, we had a nation wide lockdown from March till May end. They started re-opening everything since June in phases, owing to downfall in economy, lost jobs and frustrated public. When we had 100+ cases, the nation went into a lockdown, and re-opened when we reached millions.. Hilarious!
Third or Fourth wave! š¤¦āāļø By then, in my country, everyone will stop taking precautions too!
Everyone is moving freely. Most of the restrictions have been lifted up, except wedding and religious gathering limit on number of people. The roads are all full of cars and people.

Weāre awaiting Boris to do a month lock down from possibly Thursday
I honestly do not see how this helps. It will mean we will have to keep doing national lockdowns.

I think the government is at a loss to know what to do THAT WILL HELP ffiscool. Maybe people doing what they're told would be a start, but there are a*******s everywhere who do what they want to do regardless. I'm just so angry at the situation at the minute, we will be next for a full lockdown.

This is what we are saying in Ireland. We went from level 3 to level 5 last week and now the numbers are stabilising so it seems that level 3 was actually working after all! Itās all going to just rise again though once we open up. Just canāt see any end to it

The cases are surging again here in the US. Hospitals in some states are being overwhelmed again and are setting up tents to handle the extra load. Fortunately, the governor of California has kept a hand on things here so our cases are not surging. Other states are starting lockdowns again - keeping schools and grocery stores open but closing restaurants, bars, hair salons, everything non-essential. Today is Halloween, a big day for parties (which aren't allowed) and children dressing up and going door to door for candy (trick or treat!) which officials are discouraging. We'll see what the report is tomorrow. Our Mexican communities are also celebrating Day of the Dead which is also a big day for family gatherings. So, Happy Halloween everyone and look out for those ghosts and goblins!

If we do full lockdown for a month, weāll be in the same situation again soon. It will keep increasing when lockdown ends. I read something about different times for starting/ending as in staged but donāt know details
Iām not sure if there is a better way of doing things, but I donāt think this is it. I think the areas with highest should be in full lockdown. This is what Boris wanted but yet again, weāre trying different things before allowing whatās been started to see how it goes.
There have been area lockdowns, but new areas added only last week. Given people have to isolate 2 weeks I also donāt understand why a month lock down is due, why not 14 day one
If itās a month and then we ease out, resurgence could hit by Xmas
If a shorter lockdown, then it might be enough
Just what I think - itās just depressing really

I think we will just have to keep doing this to keep the numbers down and stop the hospitals from overflowing. Every week is a week nearer a successful vaccine.

Just watching the news and they had someone saying she didnāt want to keep being on the news talking about yet another lockdown. Instead of all the money wasted on our failed test and trace, the money should have been paying people to be at home.
The rest of UK are not doing a month it seems.
I was trying to work out why I feel extra fed up about this and I think for me, now the days are shorter, weather not great, I know Iāll find it harder. Before at least it was nice to sit out/walk

There were a bunch of cases, where the affected patient had been spreading the virus for 21 or 28 days (i don't remember which one of the two). She didn't have any symptoms herself, but it spread from her to entire family. Based on such data, the experts came down to a conclusion of min 21 or 28 day lockdown to minimize it in a region. A paper was published too about it..during the early days, I had been reading everything published about it (not now!) Lockdown is frustrating indeed! At my place, they are not putting the lockdown in place, talking about the economy and herd immunity both. The fatality rate appears low, but there are issues with the numbers. So, my hubby's company is organizing a family get together at a nearby hill station for 2 days! I asked him how to take the precautions related to corona & we were discussing just now, if we skipped it. The point is, even if we skip it, all other employees and their families would visit. If there's any case, they will contract the disease and the same people and my hubby would go to work together the next day. How to avoid? I think this time isn't right for an organizational family get together at a resort! What to do?! At millions of cases here, I don't see people taking precautions too! It's like playing with fire! I have stopped worrying, coz nothing is in my control. Can't stop people, can't stop organizations. There's a saying at our place, "The one, whom Lord wants to keep alive, can't be killed by anyone & anything!" That's all I am thinking and moving on! We are just doing our part to take precautions..that's all. If it weren't my birdies, I would have gone insane by now! š

I can't understand why this new lockdown isn't longer, from Thursday this coming week to the 2nd December is NOT even a full four weeks for heavens sake! Seems nobody in the government can count let alone run the country! Why not have a five/six week lockdown, which might (or might not) free up the time nearer and over Christmas for the people who have families that want to get together. Someone (BJ)on the briefing yesterday said that they didn't want to go into lockdown, come out and go back in again (it's like doing the Hokey Cokey isn't it?) and that is exactly what they are doing and no doubt will keep on doing. It's all to do with the economy, nothing else! End of rant!
