Agree. But it’s true too that too many selfish idiots not adhering to it. Also Keir said they asked repeatedly for this circuit breaker weeks ago. It would have been more effective. Yet again it seems BJ is too slow to act
I’m also cross, playing with people’s lives.
I can’t see this ending. And if on the whole, everyone is indoors, other than those going out for education mainly, won’t they all be more susceptible to germs again.
Someone education wise said what’s working in some places is that schools stay open. You have certain years in one week, home one week. Teachers remain in all the time but the teenagers/secondary school ages have highest spread

Yes, it would have made more sense to begin the lockdown to coincide with half term holidays, that would have given us two weeks with lockdown and no school activity. I know it's a difficult balancing act, but when the scientists and medical experts say we need a lockdown the government should have listened.
Yes, I understand the effect on the economy, but with hard work you can build a business back up, you can't bring people back from the dead.
I also feel very angry. I hope people don't go silly and stockpile this time round.

Apparently Wales is coming out of the firebreak as planned next week. Or so they said last night.
I'm really hoping we do because I've been waiting to pick something important up from a lady in Bridgend for about a month now.
But I'm also mentally preparing myself for thia dragging on. If they'd ease it though I could visit my nan again. It's been too wet and cold to stand outside her house to chat after a 40 minute walk.

Fingers crossed!
Apparently 2 massive raves were broken up by police last night. One in Bristol and one Wigan. 700 people in one. The damage they could do even if one person has covid
What is wrong with them. So so bad

You should do @sillycat84. You've done your time lol.
I suppose it will depend on the figures. Gove said on the news this morning that ours could go on for longer than a month. It's Amazon vouchers all round this year for the family.

ffiscool I wouldn't be so bothered if it was only their own lives they were risking, but it isn't. blue48 That really sucks. Hopefully your month will cut the numbers enough, but they'll probably have to be slow to lift restrictions.

Last night was Halloween - usually a big party night. Currently no more than 20 people can gather. Los Angeles now will cut the power to any house with large parties going. Just to make sure everyone knew they were serious, there was a wedding party a couple weeks ago with 200 people. The power to the house was cut and people dispersed petty quickly. That just tickled me pink! Last night the LA police had helicopters out looking for large gatherings. None were reported so power off works!

That's so terrible ffiscool! I guess these days we just need to make sure that our supplies don't get low before we get more. I'm off to the store today to get about 2 weeks worth of groceries. Since tomorrow is election day, people are saying there will be rioting regardless of who wins. Businesses have already started boarding up store fronts. The prediction is that riots will go on for more than one day so it will be best to stay home.

Just watched Nigel Farage on This Morning. He makes some good points re how we’re dealing with this. The rest of what he says, agh
But yes we will keep having to have lockdowns if we continue how we are.
I have family in Canada and Australia. I know we are all different sizes and spaced out countries but they did things so much quicker
We are doing what we are to help the NHS but loads will then miss diagnosis of serious illnesses non covid and/or miss treatments each time we lockdown
I think I’ll hibernate. Watch films and surface just before Christmas.

Watch films and surface just before Christmas. Unless a vaccine is found that can cure or at least suppress the virus, then we will have to learn to live with it. This will probably mean every country having to have a lockdown at least twice a year to keep it under control or let biology take its natural course.

I do wonder though if the regional lockdowns are better than a national. would that not allow the least affected areas to have businesses going. the problem is all those who flout it too, just doesn't help.
but if region by region, surely that would contain a lot of the spread. don't get me wrong, I would not want to be the one sorting this out, it just seems that total is not necessarily going to help.
